Did you get any further with ideas for this? Someone said dividing BUAs up and that sounds like an interesting idea. Maybe having the streets as Good Going and the building grounds on either side as Bad, or whatever the term is, Going and the latter following the rules as written? Turniptom, Welcome to the forum. The Wars of the Roses is on my list of projects to include new buildings, reorganising the medieval collection and the painting of flags. The test for the Battle of Mortimer 1054 took place last year, but was not posted to the blog. In a pre-dawn attack, using burning houses as a beacon, Norman columns attacked the French forces roused from sleep following a night of debauchery. DBM was sourced for time of day and visibility rules all of which worked well for the scenario. I shall post the scenario later this week.

Battle of the Nedao 454
The replay is posted to the blog. This proved an interesting scenario to design as combat factors for Hunnic LH and Gepid foot are alike. Destroyed elements occurred slowly, recoils became the constant result. dbagora.blogspot.com/2024/04/battle-of-nedao.html

I do like the look of Old Glory’s figs, but the scale issues concern me a little. My Classical Indian are all Old Glory 15mm miniatures as are the majority of figures for the ancient period. Figure types come in a variety of poses, therefore adding other manufacturers is not really necessary. dbagora.blogspot.com/2023/10/pike-versus-longbow.html

Battle of the Nedao 454
This has been on my “to do” list and a recent presentation from History Marche offered some much-needed information. At the blog, is a terrain layout and composition of armies. A report of the battle will be posted this week. dbagora.blogspot.com/2024/04/battle-of-nedao-454.html

by Adrian GoldsworthyAn interesting presentation of the Roman Imperial Army, focusing on Judaea at the 40 minute mark. Interestingly, “imitation legionnaires” listed among the armies of the client kings most likely were auxiliary cohorts. Trained and organised along Roman lines, these would later integrate into the Roman Army as the client entity became a Roman province. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRp5LdNsznM&t=2303s

Standard game board here is 80cm x 80cm equalling table size. Increasing the width 50% is ample size for the larger command.
The maximum number of terrain pieces placed is increased by one.

...looks great in this size, with rivaling Germanic tribes... I enjoy using the single command with 24 elements. Play is marginally longer, perhaps needing a few extra turns. Civil wars plagued most armies making a second command useful. The next double-size project is an Armenian Army, II/28c. I have plenty of extra figures in the collection, but lack javelinmen. These should arrive soon.

Thanks for the quick replies, all. Customs will levy a fee based on value of order plus postage, therefore I limit my purchases.
Is there a barrier below which the fee is not added or is smaller, or does it scale linearly? Do you know whether those fees are national or standardized in EU? I can only pass on information about import duty to the Netherlands. Since Brexit, every order large or small is taxed. However, I’m pleased if items are in stock and delivered in a week.

Hey.
I'm looking to move from using carboard counters to play DBA to real figures. However, I live in the EU and it seems there are close to none retailers selling 15mm historicals in EU. Shipping from the UK is of course possible, but I've been overwhelmed a bit by the complicatedness of all the VAT and customs stuff. Especially when most of the web stores don't clearly state whether they have the IOSS thing for EU shipments and such.
Those of you who live in the EU, where have you been buying your minis? I would be interested to hear about stores in the EU or alternatively about stores in the UK which handle the EU shipments and VAT in a easy and sensible way. I've noticed that Baccus for example sells their minis without VAT for non-UK customers, but theyre not 15mm anyways.
Rudi, I live in the Netherlands and purchase miniatures from the UK and occasionally from the US. Customs will levy a fee based on value of order plus postage, therefore I limit my purchases. I do business with Timecast Miniatures, Donnington and Old Glory UK and recommend them.

Thank you all for the replies.
The question was posed in anticipation of the clash between the Alamanni and the Franks. As it turned out, the Alamanni general did not have that option.
