Hey.
I'm looking to move from using carboard counters to play DBA to real figures. However, I live in the EU and it seems there are close to none retailers selling 15mm historicals in EU. Shipping from the UK is of course possible, but I've been overwhelmed a bit by the complicatedness of all the VAT and customs stuff. Especially when most of the web stores don't clearly state whether they have the IOSS thing for EU shipments and such.
Those of you who live in the EU, where have you been buying your minis? I would be interested to hear about stores in the EU or alternatively about stores in the UK which handle the EU shipments and VAT in a easy and sensible way. I've noticed that Baccus for example sells their minis without VAT for non-UK customers, but theyre not 15mm anyways.

Rudi, I live in the Netherlands and purchase miniatures from the UK and occasionally from the US. Customs will levy a fee based on value of order plus postage, therefore I limit my purchases. I do business with Timecast Miniatures, Donnington and Old Glory UK and recommend them.

None of them has an extensive range - compared to, say, some of the larger UK companies - but if what they have meets the niche you are looking to fill, they are all nice figures.

Thanks for the quick replies, all. Customs will levy a fee based on value of order plus postage, therefore I limit my purchases.
Is there a barrier below which the fee is not added or is smaller, or does it scale linearly? Do you know whether those fees are national or standardized in EU?

I can only pass on information about import duty to the Netherlands. Since Brexit, every order large or small is taxed. However, I’m pleased if items are in stock and delivered in a week.

There are some possibilities to purchase 15 mm miniatures in Europe. Baueda in Italy, qr-miniatures in Poland (Paweł Kur), and concerning GB I found that an order at Irregular miniatures was quite easy, quite fast and quite affordable ... And when I think about it there are Germania-Figuren (resin) with a vast range of different scales in Germany and certainly the shop of Battlefield Berlin. And I know one in Barcelona (https://www.campaign-game-miniatures.com/).

Trip to UK to go to a show should be an option.
I have often wondered how my better half would react to a lovely trip to America if the majority was spent at a show.

Do you know whether those fees are national or standardized in EU? IIRC you pay VAT at the rate for the country you are in .

there are several companies that you can purchase 15mm stl files for home printing from and therefore won't incur any import charges.

3dbreed is in Spain as far as I know. I just got one of their Macedonian war elephants and a couple of Celtic chariots (via a local etsy vendor) and overall they are excellent sculpts.
