I may or may not go. As a DBA newbie with 4 bases completed I did want to get some games in. I've focused on getting my WWII project completed before I really focus on DBA. I am 98% complete with the WWII project and I have everything I need and more for DBA. Just time is holding me back.

After discussions with Tony Barr I have set up a new version of the old Yahoo! #ancmed group and it is now open for "business". It is a clean start nothing has been transferred. I have however extended the time period to 1550 to cover the Italian Wars. Plus bloggers can request their "ancmed" posts be automatically cross-posted. The url is groups.io/g/ancmedThanks Martin Joined... Martin Me too!

I just started reading "The Plantagenets" by Dan Jones. I think I will enjoy this author and read the rest of his books! Thanks for the earlier recommendation!

Reading again the Last Kingdom collection and am half way through ‘Warriors of the Storm’. This has stimulated me enough to buy figures for a Strathclyde army. I love all his books!

Are Essex and Forged in Battle compatible, anybody? I own Essex but not FIB. But from what I have seen of FIB (nice figures) I would not mix. My opinion only.

Legio Heroica are IMO excellent, I don't think you can go wrong using them. Does LH have a US distributor? I didn't see one listed on their website.

No, still a good topic. I know guys who use craft paints and are happy the results they get!

I think you already know the answer. At least as I am concerned, its Vallejo.

Both hand drill/pin vise and a Dremel. Depends on the application. I have ruined some miniatures with the Dremel hacking off hands and arms!

Coming from a background of Napoleonic wargaming I used to do mass paint, factory line. One thing that attracted me to DBA is the small armies. I actually enjoy painting so individual or small batches will get that for me. However, I have collected what I need to do my first DBA army I have yet to put paint to them.....too busy in life right now but since kids are gone to college, its time to start!
