Hi Maybe this is discussed elsewhere. New to DBA 3.0 so maybe silly question. Battle group "A" approaches battle group "B" but does not have enough movement to make contact with "B" this turn. Group "A" stops just short of the distance group "B" can move in their own turn. Thus in group "A" next turn they can now charge home and choose which units to fight first. This is an advantage as "A" gets to choose which units fight first. is this OK? Hope i have explained it ok, for example cavalry approaching Spears but stopping just short of the spears movement(when its their turn) so in the cavalry next turn they can charge home and get to choose where to attack first. I had this with Gauls fighting romans and wondered if the gauls were that disciplined to stop and attack next turn. Sorry if i have missed something obvious. Cheers Welcome in

Spot on. Choosing order of combats, which goes first, can be vital. 👍 PS…no daft questions, only daft answers. Ask ANYTHING 😁 Daft players is acceptable

Loving this. Campaigns always seem to falter in our club. In the last 20 odd years since I got back into gaming IIRC we have only truly finished a FOW Infantry Aces Campaign and Mordheim campaign though to be honest by last game the pirates were so strong even the other seven warbands fighting together may not have beaten them in last game so they got the victory.

I got far too many projects going on but Def want to return to my Ork and Imperial Guard epic scale HoTT forces. Have you given up on the 'Paper' and 'Scissors' opponents for your HoTT Rock army? There are a surprising number of websites doing related products for that army. I would advise caution when looking for the rock element and avoid words like fist in any search engine.

Tom, have you considered posting your report, c/w photos, to the 2 DBA FB pages? Cheers, To be honest I had not but that's mainly because I don't think I'm yet a member of either. When the next battle happens, hopefully tomorrow, I'll see if I can do just that thank you. You can post on here by using something like Image BB, it's free. I am loving your conversion to DBA and am mighty pleased you are managing to get games in. Tis indeed a beautiful game and for such a simple thing it has amazing scope. Add in HoTT you can get pretty much anything played. I got far too many projects going on but Def want to return to my Ork and Imperial Guard epic scale HoTT forces. Anyway keep the reports coming I expect you tube battle reports before summer😀

Given a reboot in the modern world the much thinner, slightly hairier and possibly wiser me would be told buy a 3D printer and play everything in 6mm. What's keeping you from getting a 3D printer now? Then you can make them whatever size you want. Just be aware that's a whole other rabbit hole. Yes have considered it a number or times but expect I would just end up with more boxes of unpainted stuff I would never get round to.

6mm for me. Most of my DBA, ancient types, FOW stuff are 15mm a true and proper scale. I do own a single 10mm force and I still feel dirty for getting them.
28's I have loads for SAGA, WW2, Fantasy etc. I own a pretty decent size 28mm Russian Nap forcd that is way to big for a standard 6x4 but can get broken down to bd used for SP.

Paint the fence, no time today love but will get round to it before the end of the summer.
Meticulous research on how to paint naturally and historically accurate dark age fence in 15mm. Let me at it.

It was a brilliant choice brilliantly executed Mark. I am just a bad workman who always blames his Tamils. I agree Marks choice was inspirational.

Just starting some Isengard for MESBG. Loving the game at the moment and went a bit mental on 2nd hand purchases. Certainly no possibility of getting everything done before I pop of to the wargaming equivalent of Valhalla where I will eternally be beaten just as it looks like I am in a winning position. Is wargaming S&M a thing?

Hi Martin, owing to incompetence I thought I would be away at the end of April and now will not be. I think I'm too late, though, for a place at Alton. Am I right? Yours, Paul Yes you are incompetent

Trip to UK to go to a show should be an option.
I have often wondered how my better half would react to a lovely trip to America if the majority was spent at a show.

Allies who bring elements that cost extra pips to move , on top of not being able to group move with elements of the main army . I always build my armies with the optional 13th element of camp followers . It was John's idea last year. As you bring an army, camp and specific set of terrain that whoever ends up with the army has to use. Being very clear that the camp has been designed not to have a camp follower leaves it undefended. I rarely attack or have to defend a camp but in this tourney I lost an undefended camp, destroyed an undefended camp and hid some psilo in an undefended camp when it looked like being lost. No camp followers is the new big thing in Sheffield.
