I have a Saxon army in route from Italy alresdy. Size wise they are likely compatible with Splintered light but quite different sculpting styles. Also the LH are "heftier" or more "solid" looking than SL IMO. I would not mix them in the same army but I know that is a very individual opinion.

I just ordered the new Saxon range from Legio Heroica. I love his stuff and new lead is always a good thing.

I have an army in the planning/acquiring stage that I shouldn't care for but because of the figures I hope I will grow to like. In general I like everything fast in 3.0 - Fast Bw, Pk Ax. I've been known to say that 4Ax "aren't worth the primer" for instance. So why do I have the Eureka Almughauar (4Ax) figures for a IV/60 Catalan Company army? Because I love the figures. I'll just have to see if I can learn to live with their slow-moving butts on the tabletop.

I noticed that Legio Heroica makes a Zanj javelinman in their Crusader/Muslim range. They make many other Arab figures but I haven't looked deeply into what other figures might work for a Zanj army.

I'm curious about opinions of what elements in the army would be the East African Slave Troops and which would be the Local Arabs from the Southern Iraqi Marshland mentioned in the 3.0 text? I' guessing that the General would be Arab given his name - Ali ibn Muhammad. Could the 4 x Sp be a mix of both Arab and Slaves? I'm also guessing that the 5Hd are likely Slaves as would be the 3Bd as that same element shows up listed as Zanj in the Abbasid list.

I'm making a South Welsh army and used Bloody Day Miniatures available from Sgt. Major Games here in the USA. I think they are formerly Feudal Miniatures. Nice basic figures with good detail. Quite similar to Essex. The service from SMG has always been superior - often figures arrive in less than a week.

Very good sir! My work area is always a mess. It's a wonder anything is ever done on it. A work colleague did once remark that I am the type of person who given a clear desk and two postage stamps could make the desk look cluttered! I have found that no matter the original size of my painting space due to clutter & chaos I always end up actually working in a 6" x 6" area.

- Eric's enraged Psiloi later hunted down and destroyed my Asian V-2 missile launcher.
At the end of the game my enraged Ps were going for Guard Chasseur status as they were trying (before time ran out) to dispatch a second of Paul's Jumbos. I would have had to paint up some sort of Elephant trophy for them had they been successful.
