The next Legs of the Good, Bad and Ugly Tournament are going to be played this coming Saturday in three separate locations - Fall In coordinated by Bob Beattie, Tornado Alley in the Dallas Area coordinated by John Hovey and the Nashville Leg coordinated by myself. Looking for some good reports shortly afterwards. The North Yorkshire Leg coordinated by Bob Carter has just been played and I hope to post a few pictures tomorrow of the games. Still some to go with the final games being played in hte Michigan area, also coordinated by Bob Beattie on the 19th. To give a better idea of what it's all about, my bride has put up some video from last years Nashville Leg, and they can be seen here: GBnU 2015 Nashville - Opening: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfGNljXEE54GBnU 2015 Nashville - The Players www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQjlPBnAvlsGBnU 2015 Nashville - The Action www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7xiO4L5s5oGBnU 2015 Nashville - Wrap-Up www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcITN-cRJJ8 Terry

Pete, according to the original announcement if the troop type is a HotT troop type only, then it cannot be historical - and if we apply that, then Riders are not historical. However, there was so much issue over bows/shooters that each Leg is making the decision of what is historical and what is fantasy.
I am hoping that next years theme will be a less confusing one.

Sunday, the 30th will see another of the eleven Legs of this years GBnU Tournament with Bob Carter running the North Yorkshire Leg. Always a great looking group of guys and armies from this one.
The following Saturday, November 5th, will see The Tornado Alley Leg run by John Hovey, the Fall IN Leg run by Bob Beattie and the Nashville Leg run by myself. And there are still more to follow after that.
Reminder, this year in addition to the Barker Award for the best theme army we also have a new Stronghold Award sponsored by Bob Beattie. Candidates for both of these awards will be put on line for anyone to vote on.
Stay tuned for further developments,
Terry

Just wanted to remind everyone that this coming Saturday, the 22nd, Tom Thomas will be hosting the Atlanta Leg of the GBnU Tournament. This will be the third Leg of eleven to be played around the world.
Have a great day of it Tom and we'll be anxious to hear the results!
Following Atlanta will be Bob Carter with the North Yorkshire Leg on the 30th and Euan Caldwell of Glasgow on Nov. 1st.
Lots more to follow,
Terry

Mike, An excellent report and what looks like a very successful Leg of this years GBnU. Thank you for the players names and armies and for the great photos! Nothing more inspiring for me than seeing other guys work/armies.
Well done!!!!

I am currently taking a break from my 1800-04 French, and am finishing up a Red Skull army in my Weird WWII series to combat my Hollywood US army.

Mark, Those are some great looking figures. I really enjoyed seeing them!
I am currently painting a Weird WWII army to oppose my US Hollywood Army. This one is Red Skull and the theme is based on the occult and sciences - taking ideas from several books, from several movies (such as the Outpost trilogy, The Devil's Rock, War of the Dead) and even one element from a Weird War comic cover.
I only have four elements left to do and then eh Stronghold. I should also mention that some of my elements are rip-offs from Alan Saunder's great Weird WWII armies, which is where I got the bug from.
Pictures soon,
Terry

I have just been advised by Blake who is running the Republic of Texas Leg that the date should be Nov. 12th, not Nov. 11th.

I need to make a correction to the date for the Glasgow Leg. It is Nov. 1st, not the 11th. Please excuse my typo.
Thanks,
Terry

Thanks Bob. I will also mention Bob is being a first in that he is running two Legs this year. His normal Midwest Leg, and a new one at fall In. Thanks Bob - just excellent!!!
I also have a couple of dates to announce.
Glasgow, Scotland - Nov. 11th
Shetland Islands, Scotland - Oct. 15th
That leaves us with Atlanta and Tornado Alley to set their dates and I'll post those as soon as I get them.

As fall is finally here, the various Legs of the GBnU Tournament are starting to fall into place (no pun intended? ). Some are still to be announced, but for now I can give you the dates for some of the locations. Midwest, USA ? Fall In Convention ? Glasgow, Scotland ? North Yorkshire, UK - Oct. 30th Sydney, Australia - Oct. 3rd Staines Massive, UK - Nov. 13th Tornado Alley, Texas ? Atlanta, USA ? Shetland Islands, Scotland ? Republic of Texas, USA - Nov. 11th Nashville, TN - Nov. 5th I'll update this thread as dates are given to me. If you are interested in joining in playing in one of the legs, let me know and I'll get you in touch with the Leg Coordinator. The theme this years is "A walk in history - "Here be dragons" Terry

I do not see a problem in fielding Henry V without altering the rules or the announcement. Bow armed troops whose primary weapon is to shoot the other side would be Shooters. To qualify one only needs 2 fantasy element so a Hero can do that or add a Dragon from King Arthur, or add St George as a Paladin.
Although the theme this year includes a historical base, the game is still a fantasy game with a primary objective of just having fun.
And if it works best for a Leg to play Shooters as somethign different, OK. The objective is still to have fun.
