I've calculated that since the start of the lockdown in the UK (March 2020) I've painted over 50 DBA armies. Sadly for me, the main thing has been the painting of figures. This means that, despite concentrating on flocking etc recently, I still have to decorate the bases of over 50 armies. Is this just me? Does everyone else paint the figures and gloop the bases as soon as the figures are completed? Sonic, You could revive an ‘old school’ technique of painting the base an Avocado Green. The retro-look just might be the answer. I don't think I could face myself ....

I've finally finished the last of the Teutonic figures - the 'Prussian' auxilia. Wondering whether to begin painting something else or finally do some bases.

Decided to try my hand at a Teutonic. Bought the 12 knights for the 2 x 6Kn, and have painted the brethren first. Strangely, I'm enjoying painting the black crosses .... That has a hint of the macabre about it. I'm also listening to Ghost, so you may be right .....

Finally finished the camels. Stuck to bases, but no goop yet. Trying to finish the last 5 25mm Thracian cavalry to finish the Thracians. The weather and school holidays are slowing me down.

The blue people! Are you doing varying shades of blue for some of the clothing? Yes, varying blues for the clothing and patterns for the saddle cloths. Three days to paint six figures .... Make that six days. I'm running out of steam on the saddle cloths.

Tuareg camels. It's very slow-going due to the detail in the figures. 12 finished, only 26 to go! The blue people! Are you doing varying shades of blue for some of the clothing? Yes, varying blues for the clothing and patterns for the saddle cloths. Three days to paint six figures ....

First purchases in over six months. (I've been so frugal!) Might have to try those archers myself. Look to be so easy to paint!

First impressions are that they have very fine detail, and are very light figures. But if you don't like dealing with flash, these are a nightmare: the 'printing' process means they have a lot of excess 'sprues' which need to be cut away. The nature of the plastic means that some fine spears, 'toggles', etc are prone to breaking off if you're not careful. However, the plastic is perfect for CA, so broken parts do stick back on easily. But it is the lightness that still strikes the most.
In my opinion, the 28mm camels are fantastic and are (obviously) far more robust than the 15mm.
I've put some pics on FB.
