I'm close to commencing my 1st major project for 2024, namely II/63 Three Kingdoms Chinese. I'm using Magister Militum figures as they came as a tournament prize. I'm gathering resources such as uniform colours, banners, etc. I'm having trouble locating details of the banners used by the various forces. I seem to recall that one of the fanatici posted images of banners used by the kingdoms, but I've been unable to locate them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated in tracking down these images. cheers, Ignore this plea for help. I went back, refined my search parameters and found the post, from 2022, that I was searching for. Cheers,

Cypriot and Phonecian Ofds and Sods completed - but the lure of Napoleonics has been too strong in the new year. I’ve got an Italian Division on the painting table. Paddy, do you have images of the Cypriots and Phonecians? The Italians will be very colourful, especially Murat! Cheers,

Maccabean and Hasmoneans on the table still being drilled cleaned and converted. Meanwhile I got side tracked over Xmas by some undercoated Teutonics - who knew painting white could be such fun. Thought some wintry basing would be seasonal. Spent today creating printing and applying custom decals for a Livonian brotherhood kn stand: never again! K Ken, all of my Teutons are Livonian Sword Brethren. I feel your pain 😓. Cheers,

Today I completed the 3Cv (G) element for Khwarizmians. Next up are the figures for the Camp Followers for the Khwarizmians. They have been cleaned up and mounted on painting nails. I'll prime them tomorrow. Cheers, Yesterday I completed the the CF element for the Khwarizmians. Next up for the Odds and Sods legion is a baggage toting elephant. I thought that it would be a useful, for appropriate armies, when playing in one of David Lawrence's Collision Course tournaments. So far the components have been assembled, cleaned up, mounted on painting nails and primed. Cheers, Well I've completed the baggage bearing elephant and moved onto more camelary elements. I hope to finish the 1x3Cm and 2xLCm elements over the next couple of days. Cheers,

A quick search .. and help from wikipedia ... helped me locate this army in time, geography and culturally.. Has Wiki got it right, is it an empire based upon the fighting strength of "The Kipchaks or Qipchaks, also known as Kipchak Turks or Polovtsians, were Turkic nomads and then confederation that existed in the Middle Ages inhabiting parts of the Eurasian Steppe." ?? CarlL still learning If more slowly as time progresses!) Sorry for the period of "radio silence" CarlL. Other stuff got in the way. I'm not sure that they inhabited the Eurasian steppes. My scant knowledge of the Khwarizmians is that they formed a state after becoming disaffected with their Seljuk overloards in the late 12th century and for about 50 years were a viable entity until they were heavily defeated by the Mongols in 1231. The remnants of the Khwarizmian army was hired by various sultans in the greater Syrian region. They even captured Jerusalem in 1244. Later in the same year, were part of the army which defeated a coalition of forces, that included the last Latin crusader force to be fielded in large numbers, at the battle of La Forbie. As is the case with most mercenary armies, they became hubristic and were virtually destroyed in 1246 by their former employer, under the leadership of Baibers. Cheers,

The Mtd-Inf (3Bw) for the Khwarizmians was finished yesterday and I've now moved on to the final element for this morphing exercise. The figures for the 3Cv (G) element have been cleaned up, mounted on painting nails and primed. I've also painted an appropriate flag/banner for the commander's base. Not sure when I'll be able to apply any colour to the figures. Cheers, Today I completed the 3Cv (G) element for Khwarizmians. Next up are the figures for the Camp Followers for the Khwarizmians. Heavy chariots full of Hoplites that can dismount as Spears. They are really rather nice! Always feel the list writers missed a trick with the Kyreneans - if ever there was a unit which would’ve been ideally classified as Mtd. Infantry, these were it. Mtd.Sp would make far more sense than HCh…these guys were definitely NOT in the category of ‘hard charging heavy chariots’, more like horse-drawn hoplite delivery wagons 😳 I would have to agree Martin. Cheers,
