Well done 'gregorius' I can see this unfinished project gnawing away at you on holiday after having made so much progress!! I have only once taken figures away on holiday, many years ago (the very first hard plastic ancients in 25mm) when we had a holiday in the mountains of Andalucia, and planned to relax by reading, painting and short walks. It was August and the mountains proved not to be cool in August! My one attempt to paint found the acrylic paint forming skin on the brush before reaching the figures. I was in the shade with a cooling mountain breeze! It also proved too hot to walk in the daylight hours! So me, my wife and our youngest daughter (then a young woman) found ourselves sitting in the plunge pool of our apartment with hats on our heads and water up to our necks, occasionally dashing to fridge for a cool drink!! We did manage a couple of excursions one to Granada's Alhambra palace and the other to Ronda (and a couple of others to the seaside) in our air conditioned rental car - but mostly we stayed put as it was too hot! well until the cool evening air let us roam to nearby bars and tapas ! Enjoy your break Greg. CarlL Thanks CarlL and I definitely haven't packed figures and paints! Though, Wf(S) did pack her oils and 10cm square canvases to work on 3 miniatures that are required for an exhibition being opened on the 1st weekend of June. I'm just enjoying the mid 20°s that represents mid Autumn here on the Gold Coast 😉. Cheers,

Today I completed the 2x4Bw. They have been based and flocked. Next up are the alternative elements for the archers, the 2xSp. These may be the last 2 elements that I get done until sometime in June. Cheers, Today I should complete the 2xSp for the Fatimids. I'm halfway through the process of decorating their bases. Goop was laid down yesterday and the base coat has been applied. Once dry, this will be followed by drybrushing 2 contrasting colours. The final step will be laying down the flocking. I may be able to find some time over the next week or so to clean up the figures for the mounted portion of the army and glue them to painting nails. We'll see. Cheers, Well, I got a lot more done than I thought I would. Not only did I clean up the figures for the mounted troops and glue them to their painting nails, I was also able to prime them. Additionally, I painted up and based the figures for the 3x4Bd elements. Not something I expected to achieve. So all of the foot elements of the Fatimids are finished. I definitely won't be getting back to this army until June, as we're heading off to warmer climes next week. Cheers,

I'm going to quickly chime in with bragging rights - I won the Bronze Age Battles with I/7b Early Libyans (with Sea People Allies) Not bad for a primarily 3Ax/Ps army on Agr 4 5 wins and a 3-4 loss put me over the line by a point. I'll leave it to Chris Humphreys to put up the full results and post my reports and photos on the book of face --> I was successful on day 2 with the Ming Chinese but not as spectacularly so - when I faced Charmaine Benfield and the wall of Maori Fast Blade it was an epic fail Cheers Well done David. Much like the Sung from long ago, the Ming have joined the ranks of the Bd speedbumps 😉. Cheers,

Well, that was fast! I've painted the figures for the Horde and Psiloi, glued them to their bases, and applied goop. All I need to do now is to wait for the goop to dry, paint the texture and apply flocking and tufts. Next up should be the figures for the 2x4Bw elements. Cheers, Today I completed the 2x4Bw. I've just commenced working on the 3rd of 4 armies that I planned to complete this year. So, this time it's the Fatimids. The army's composition is 1x3Cv (G), 3x3Cv, 1xLH, 3x4Bd, 2xSp or 2x4Bw, 1x5Hd, 1xPs. The figures that I'm using could be best described as a can of baked beans: Heinz 47 varieties 🤣. Thus far I've cleaned up the 35 foot figures and mounted them on painting nails. I expect this to be a slow burn project that I'll attend to between non DBA modelling projects. Given that, I'll be posting updates on an irregular basis. That being said, I hope to apply primer to the Psiloi and Horde figures today. Cheers, Well, that was fast! I'll kick off with my choice of army. Drum roll please: The Khwarizmians, IV/24b. Either an inspired selection, or crash and burn 🤔!

I saw that a big post was made in the FB groups regarding playtest sessions. Sounds like it's getting close, which is exciting. I now feel comfortable in DBA, and will be focusing on HOTT soon. I'll probably feel comfortable(-ish) just in time for this to arrive. We’re hoping to push for a late Spring/early Summer publication date 😎 P So our late autumn, early winter Paul? Cheers,
