WOW!! Well done Gregorius! Ten elements is nearly the whole DBA army in one week?!?! All power to your painting mojo. CarlL Thanks very much CarlL. One of the benefits of being retired is that I can devote large blocks of time to the hobby. Cheers,

Today I finished the 3x4Bd elements. So all of the foot for the Three Kingdoms Chinese are now completed. Ten of the 14 elements that I intend to do are now done. That just leaves the mounted elements. These elements include 1x3Cv(G), 1x3Cv and 2xLH. As CANCON is less than 5 days away, I'll return to this project once I return from my travels.
Cheers,

Cheers, Yesterday I completed painting the figures for the 3x4Cb, glued them to bases and flocked the stands. Next up are the heavy solid foot, 3x4Bd. Cheers,

Pending the submission of the outstanding Day 1 list, looks like my Sumerians are going head to head with Pharaonic Egypt.

Good luck in the realm of the 3 Kingdoms Gregorious,it's a lovely army to do and an excellent period of Chinese History. If you aren't aware already and are interested in watching there are several videos available about the period(and a lot more) on YouTube.... youtube.com/@kingsandgenerals?si=mTHRMLGQc6xtnEgn...plenty to stir interest or just watch while your painting 😉 Thanks Haardrada. I have of a copy of The Battle of Red Cliffs and have watched it many times. Cheers,

So, I've gone down a rabbit hole that is the Three Kingdoms Chinese and started painting up the army. About 2 years ago good friend MarkBB gifted me a Magister Militum army, comprising of figures from their Han range. All figures for the foot elements have been cleaned up, glued to painting nails and primed.
First up are the 1xArt and 1xPs elements. The figures have been painted, sealed and glued to their bases. Tomorrow I should be able to flock the bases.

After completing the elements to morph my Seljuk Turks into Khwarizmians I conducted an audit of the STs and discovered that I needed to modify one of the elements for 3.0 compliance. So the 1xSp had to be downgraded to a 1x4Ax. tbh it is for this reason and reduced painting time I’m considering basing some of my sp for new armies on a 20mm deep base (e.g. bosphoran). K Ken, when 3.0 came out I decided that, with new armies, all of my foot, except Hd obviously, would be based on 20mm deep bases. The option of a deeper base allowed for the more dynamically posed figures, not to mention scale creep, to easily fit on an element. I must point out that I haven't gone to the extreme of rebasing the shallower elements 😉. Cheers,Â

So the 1xSp had to be downgraded to a 1x4Ax. In the process of debasing the figures they suffered some damage to the painted finish. Rather than attempt a touch up, I stripped the old finish and gave them a new paint job. I also rediscovered some baggage camels in the stash and these were also painted up at the same time and based as a baggage element. I'll post some images at a later date.

I'm close to commencing my 1st major project for 2024, namely II/63 Three Kingdoms Chinese. I'm using Magister Militum figures as they came as a tournament prize. I'm gathering resources such as uniform colours, banners, etc. I'm having trouble locating details of the banners used by the various forces. I seem to recall that one of the fanatici posted images of banners used by the kingdoms, but I've been unable to locate them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated in tracking down these images. cheers, Ignore this plea for help. I went back, refined my search parameters and found the post, from 2022, that I was searching for. Cheers,

Cypriot and Phonecian Ofds and Sods completed - but the lure of Napoleonics has been too strong in the new year. I’ve got an Italian Division on the painting table. Paddy, do you have images of the Cypriots and Phonecians? The Italians will be very colourful, especially Murat! Cheers,

Maccabean and Hasmoneans on the table still being drilled cleaned and converted. Meanwhile I got side tracked over Xmas by some undercoated Teutonics - who knew painting white could be such fun. Thought some wintry basing would be seasonal. Spent today creating printing and applying custom decals for a Livonian brotherhood kn stand: never again! K Ken, all of my Teutons are Livonian Sword Brethren. I feel your pain 😓. Cheers,
