Could anyone recommend any 15mm figures that would be good for the Welsh around 1000 AD - I want to get the warband feel and already have the later North Welsh Army with the long spears.
Thanks

It now looks as if we will have 25 - 30 participants at the Midland Open in Bakewell on Saturday 10 June.
I have e-mailed all those who have requested a place with the details. I am pretty much at the limit for numbers for the venue but do contact me if you would like to be put on a reserves list.
Regards,
Simon

Thanks - is that Patrick Dale?
We have 20 confirmed and a further 8 possibles. Suspect I will need some help with people bringing boards and we may well overflow onto the Gilbert and Sullivan set for a performance of Pirates of Penzance that evening in the venue!
One of the songs may be particularly relevant for the tournament:
Go, ye heroes, go to glory,
Though you die in combat gory,
Ye shall live in song and story.
Go to immortality!

To get the right feel, I guess you could use a little spit to dilute the paint!

I think I agree with Martin. The moving into contact paragraph at the bottom of P9 suggests to me that case d overlap is not contact as defined in cases a, b and c. If an overlap on a supporting element was intended to count as if on the element being supported, would the sentence on P10 have rather read " A flank or rear attack or an overlap on an element providing rear support ...."

With about 10 weeks to go, we now have 20 players confirmed and 7 possibles. If you do think you will be able to come to Bakewell on 10 June, please let me know as I may well have to cap numbers! Cheers, Simon Twenty players would be a very good turn-out, Simon. What do you reckon is the maximum number you would be able to accommodate? (I am still only a possible at present.)
Denis
I think about 28 assuming that players are OK with 2 pairs on a 6 x 2 foot table and having a couple of tables amongst the Gilbert and Sullivan set that is on in the evening!!

I think you use the add attachment button at the top right when you click reply.

Thanks Mark - I haven't linked all the code names to the real names yet! You have a place reserved. Look forward to seeing you again.

Excellent news Attilathehun. I can recommend a good flower and chocolate shop in Bakewell for when your ruse is discovered! Could you please let me have your surname - I won't tell girl friend, promise!

As we are now up to 16 reserved places with another eight showing keen interest, I have provisionally booked a second room at the Medway Centre in Bakewell so that there will be room at the inn for all if required. I will probably have to make a decision one way or the other in early April so please do let me know if you think it is likely you will be there on 10 June.

In the Bakewell Tournament last year there were three Lithuanian entries out of 14 and they came second, fifth and eighth. The 5th had a Teutonic ally and the eighth had a Hussite one. This is probably not representative as the theme of the tournamant was armies with at least four elements of artillery and/or LH. I seem to recall that galloping around and depositing 3Bw all over was a popular ruse!
