If there is sufficient interest, I am planning to run a tournament in Bakewell on Saturday 14 October. Not sure of the format yet, but am thinking of pinching Martin Smith's matched pairs concept.
Could you private message me if you are interested, indicating whether you are highly likely to attend or just a possibility at this stage.
Thanks, Simon

Simon, What scoring system will you use? I will have a think and let you know soon. It will be different from what we used at Bakewell! Simon

If it is decided that we need a 3.1 , can we agree some boundaries for the change? Eg no new troop types or rebasing, no new mechanics (eg evade moves) and keep to same or less wordcount for the rules. Just some ideas.

Certainly the heaviest crossbows were slow but more powerful, had greater penetration, and could outrange even a longbow…but where do you draw the line between ‘light’ and ‘heavy’ weapons of this type, and who used what? (Mind you, I think it is a nice idea to have a difference between longbows and crossbows) Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, including the latest June 2017 FAQ and the Quick Reference Sheets from the Society of Ancients:- fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes
personally, I think it is important that DBA keeps its identity as a high level, fairly abstract game without getting too overloaded with detail and chrome. There are other rule sets that do that. Regards, Simon

Simon, I have a few (okay, three) of that Minifigs rider and horse that Peter just referenced. Unpainted surplus. Yours, if you want them. Gratis. Probably to no one's surprise, I have a goodly number more Mikes Models Polish Knights, sculpted with more of the Mohawk look. Again, unpainted. Dismounts too! (Not that they get to do that in DBA-3.) Want any? Hi Paul - have sent you a message and hopefully it is in your forum messages! Cheers Simon

Thanks Colin. The picture shows a knight in mail wearing a helm with a sort of Mohican haircut!!! These are from the Irregular Miniatures page.

Thanks Colin. They are indeed very nice figures and I am now considering using the foot figures. I am looking for some later knights circa 1250-1300 that look like drawing 114 in the Heath Armies of Feudal Europe book and so far have only found Irregular. These look nice but am also after a bit of variety!
Cheers

Does anyone know of manufacturers other than Irregular who make Polish Knights for 13th century with the crested helmet? Preferably available UK.
Thanks
