thanks Stevie! (i know you'll react sooner or later on that! ) my main source was wikipedia and about Nuragic Civilization, it seem that Nuragic periods is from around -1800 to Roman Period (-250), but it's Historians Battle! but yes, i think you're right, I/14b European Bronze Age Army, with Sherdans look could be a good solution! so i have to add some Sherdans to my paint project! (already have some for Sea people Army), ok, this summer, i'll have the chance to take a look of that on the real site, maybe i could find some more information directly in Sardinia Museums! (no, there is not only sun and beach in the life! ) thanks! Eric

yes i understand the blurried history and difficulties to date things without writing and proofs, i just wanted to know how -1000 for Phoenicians (and also Villanovan Italian, Later Hebrew, Italian Hill Tribes) and -700 for Sards people was chosen (and why not -1000 too if the date is not exactly known), most of the time DBA dates are logical, so maybe (surely! ) i have missed something... also i try to make a link between Sardinia Sards and Sea peoples Sherdens, as there is about 500 years hole between them... Thx, Eric

Hi, i didn't find source for that begining pediod of -1000 for the Phoenicians and Italians Hill tribes and others... and also -700 one for Sardes people of Sardinia... as -700 is in the middle of Nuragic III period for them, Phoenicians arrived to Sardinia around -900 and the first Carthage attack seem to be around -545... it's a complex period, so far away that things are blurred between different peoples and armies, (for example, there is a theory about Sea peoples Sherdens and Sardes who could be the same people, at least around -1200) so it's not easy to understand sometimes the chosen dates for armies in DBA.. so if someone have some other info... (ok it's a bit "technical" but i think that is the beauty of DBA wargame (ok not only DBA) , it begin with game and finally it's History! ) Eric

interesting discussion! so Stevie, it mean that at close range, one bow unit can do the same damage to a Ax, Pk, Wb than to a Ps? humm... and why not add this : -1 to solid foot only? (troop more dense, with less mouvement, could not avoid arrows easier than light ones no?) so to 4Wb, 4Ax, 4Pk, 4Bd and Sp only. (my 2 cents )

for me i always start with chariots and horses, btw i like to paint horse, (i made a Mongol Army some month ago...) but not chariots! especially general units (it's to motivate me! ) but i hate when i need to paint serial of lot of same figs... it's quite boring... it's true that painting figs is a long process, and you have to do the base too (a beautiful base is important for the overall look, it can save an average paintwork! ) rhaaa i have to paint my First Roman Empire Auxilliaries.. (only 2 different poses) hopefully only 16 figs... but it will be loooong! and next will be Egyptian new kingdom... yes i like to hurt myself...

good idea! (it's the first thing i asked to my friend about terrain... the lack of some sort impassable, and hop Stevie do it! ) so i imagine that if the unit must recoil or flee and it's impossible to do it(on cliff side feet or on cliff top side for example) it is destroyed ? also how you think to insert it to the terrain list (optionable or not) ?

yes it's possible for 4 units in a line : start : 4 in a line : A - B - C - D 1) B advance of 1.5 front and 0.5 on the left 2) A advance just behind B 3) C advance just behind A 4) D advance just behind C
and for 5 units it's normally possible too: center unit advance of 2 Bw and left and right unit alternatively go behind each other

ok! btw it's an interesting discussion! "This army represents that of Philip II 359-336 BC, Alexander 336-328 BC, Antipater 342-321 BC, and all of Alexander’s lieutenants, governors, and newly appointed satraps including Leonnatus, Craterus, Eumenes, Antigonos, Alketas, Lysimachos, Seleukos, Ptolemy and other successors until the start of their own armies in 320 BC. Only Philip and Alexander would have hypaspists, the others using instead local 4Ax troops such as mercenary peltasts, Illyrians, Thracians, or Asiatics." so why keeping II/12 Alexandrian Macedonians (359– 319 BC) and not -321, as the "...start of their own armies in 320 BC." ?
