Don't think anything happens between the Kn and the second spear.
The Close Combat section on page 10 says you have to have a front edge in contact for close combat to occur. I think the general agreement has been that a corner is not an edge.

Someone has Egyptians from Essex so I went with Early Hebrews. I am not sure about their viability against the Egyptians without some divine intervention, but I am looking forward to seeing these models in the flesh. Having got a Hebrew army I can confirm it's a challenge to play with! The reliance on a lot of fast Ax combined with a high aggression factor of 3 is generally a great recipe for being stomped on in good going by any decent troop type. At least against the NKE your Ax can take on the Lch on equal terms and you have some Wb to threaten the Bd, plus their Bw could be a soft target? Alternatively if someone has some Assyrians and then you could combine with the Egyptians against them? At least that's semi historical, for Judah rebelled against Assyria during the reign of King Hezekiah in about 701 BC and the account of this rebellion, in the bible in 2 Kings 18, reveals that Judah appealed to Egypt for military aid during the conflict, though it didn't work out well as Egyptians were defeated. And of course it's all later than the Early Hebrew army.

Well done, sheffmark, completing your army. Any chance of posting a link here for non FB users / members? CarlL Er, not sure how to provide a link to anything other than the Facebook page but here that is: www.facebook.com/groups/382414395294162

Thanks for all the help. I've now finished the army, (for better or worse!) and have posted a picture on the DBA Facebook page. Should be an interesting army to play with! And a very fine looking army it is. Cheers Thanks

I agree with most of this, although I would query the following bit: " I've seen one who was on the flank of an army recoil down the entire width of the army and end up on the other flank." The last part of the PASSING OVER, UNDER OR THROUGH.... section on page 16 says: "When an element's maximum tactical move is insufficient to clear the base of an element it is passing through, under or over, it cannot pass. If you take it element by element then you could argue that the last element met would not have a frontage of 500 paces so the Magician could pass through. On the other hand you could argue that that if there isn't a gap within 500 paces of the first element to be recoiled through, then the Magician can't clear it and therefore it can't pass. If I were ruling on this I think I'd go with the later argument. That reference is to ‘tactical move’, wot uses PIPs, and not to an outcome move (which does not). Yep, good point. So that also means you can't stop a God from recoiling by placing an enemy behind it.

Thanks Stevie Being in the 'generalist' camp myself this is useful. I had started by painting horizontal stripes on the clothing as I thought I'd seen that somewhere but couldn't get them that fine so my just paint over them. The elephants with the two tiers of archers should look good though!

Thanks all.
Stevie, thanks for those. I had a look at the Google search but specific Burmese seemed in short supply and seemed to clash with each other, i.e. were they mainly red and green or nice pastel blue and pink? Also the first link just seems to show everyone in a white linen.
The picture above looks interesting but I can't seem to enlarge it, do you know the source? Cheers

Has anyone got any information about ancient Burmese uniforms/dress or shield patterns?
Thanks
