I have a thing for dark age British armies, which in DBA can be rather single dimensional. I stumbled across Dux Bellorum as an alternative for doing some gaming in that era and was wondering if anyone has experience with them?

[slightly off topic rant following] And of course all of this points to the thing that makes DBA harder to sell. So much ambiguity in the midst of some of the most confusing uses of the English language that I have ever read. The number of times that myself and others have had to read the rules out loud slowly and then to interpret the writings. It is frustrating....and that is from someone who has been playing since V1.1 - so what does it look like to new comers? [rant done]

OK...so just reading it afresh and going through my interpretation without the details in the OP, I would say it means.
I must have 1-2 compulsory features - either a BUA or 2 Plough. I must have 2-3 optional features chosen from River, Difficult Hills, Gentle Hills, Plough, Enclosures, Road, Waterway, Scrub, Boggy.
So for example I could have A BUA as the mandatory piece and a plough and River as my optional pieces.
That is how I have been playing it. Is that how others have played it?

Hi all,
I just got my first 3D printer for my birthday, and am keen to try out building some terrain for my various war games. Does anyone have experience 3D printing anything for DBA? Any tips you might have for me? Good sources of models for printing?

Would love to see them. I have been pondering on spending time to get some 6mm armies going, but have faltered on the project a few times.

I cannot see how to time limit photos but I can delete photos. Each photo is limited to 1MB and each post can have up to 3 photos. I have deleted a whole load of my pictures and that has given us 5MB to play with. Perhaps I could delete all phot's on the site to reset our 250mb. Just a thought Does the allotment include the DBA Wiki? Or, is DBA Wiki separate from the total space allotted? The Wiki is separate.

Obadiah, Olympian Games had DBA v3.0 available at CanCon in late January, I know because I bought a copy for my son. As to the future of DBA, it has a loyal support base, plus its quick to learn and play, and requires minimal troops and painting. Its also been around for nearly 30 years. So I don't think its future is in question. DBA probably won't be the flavour of the month again, but it is the basis for or heavily influences several other systems, and will be played for years to come. The friend of mine who was after it tried Olympian and they sold their last at Cancon and the message I relayed came from them (and presumably from the supplier).

Hi folks.
I heard from someone today that they have been advised that DBA3.0 is out of print and they will not be making another print run as they (WRG) lost money on DBA3.0 - and perhaps are even considering the future of DBA. Is this news to everyone or just me? Anyone got any insights into the future of DBA?

Hi Robert. The club is called Company of Dice. They have two groups. One meets in West Ryde (where I generally attend) and one in Padstow. Both meet on Saturday once a month. Additionally I am aware of a sub group that meets in Coogee (I believe) who play ancients. They tend to play a bit of BBDBA, Sword and Spear, Impetus V2 and Saga. They meet on a Wednesday.
I am keen to try to introduce DBA to some folks at CoD West to see if I can get a few players there.

Hey folks.
Many of you would know that in the past I have frequented these forums a bit but a year or two ago I took some time away from DBA to focus on WW2 wargaming (Bolt Action). I am a member of a club in Sydney that plays a range of war games now and was wondering if there are any remaining Sydney DBA gamers that might be interested in coming to the club meet in West Ryde to play?

Hey folks has anyone played Sword and Spear? There are some people in my new gaming club that play it and I am going to check it out but was interesting others experiences with it or thoughts on it.

How many ended up registering for DBA at CanCon in the end? I am going to be there playing Bolt Action but might stick my head over if I get a chance.
