Now in its 8th Year the Magister Militum Per Capitoline Territorialis (aka "The Grand Maurice") carries on the tradition of participation in as many of the Australian Capital Territory's DBA Tournaments - and preferably without using a killer army.
The MMPCT takes the average adjusted score across the best three ACT Tournaments - with the Two Day Cancon event counting as two competitions. There was a time when there were 5-6 events in the ACT, currently there are 4 - enough for tournament junkies to have one bad day and still be a contender.
The adjusted scores are worked out using my element rating system (which I will post here as soon as I can) - each round the adjusted score is Raw Score X (Opponent's Army Rating / Own Army's Rating) so if you can pull off a win using the Wallachians (approx. rtg - 325 ) against the Lithuanians (approx. rtg 599 - dismounting troops make a difference) you are looking at a score being increased by a factor of 1.8.
The total adjusted score is used to determine the adjusted placing which is then divided by the number of participants to determine the percentile placing.
At the conclusion of Cancon's 2nd day the average percentile placing across the best 3 performances in the ACT's Tournaments is derived to determine the winner of "The Grand Maurice".
This year the Tournament Circuit is
Collision Course III/3 (DBA with a twist) - May 2016
Landwaster 2016 - November 2016
Cancon (Ancient and Classical) - January 2016
Cancon (Dark Age and Medieval) - January 2016
After Landwaster the following list have played in both so only need 1 day of Cancon to qualify or if they compete on both days can drop the worst result.
Greg Kelleher - 30th Percentile
David Osborne - 31st Percentile
Alex Filewood - 34th Percentile
Dean Bedlington - 43rd Percentile
Phillip Baldoni - 50th Percentile
Darryl Hills - 51st Percentile
Ken Filewood - 61st Percentile
Peter Spitzkowski - 66th Percentile
David Lawrence - 74th Percentile
Tony Cotton - 94th Percentile
There are others that have competed in one tournament in the cycle who can still qualify by competing on both days of Cancon
Mark Baker - 5th Percentile
Gary Moriarty - 13th Percentile
Sheldon White - 15th Percentile
Leigh Dunn - 19th Percentile
Steve Hopkins - 20th Percentile
Sulin Ford - 25th Percentile
Zoe Brain - 40th Percentile
Jon Willacy - 44th Percentile
Brenton Searle - 65th Percentile
Jane Chellew - 70th Percentile
Michael Chellew - 75th Percentile
Andrew Ford - 81st Percentile
David Williams - 85th Percentile
Jim Davey - 88th Percentile
Andrew Brain - 90th Percentile
David Quilty - 100th Percentile
Mark Baker is gunning for 3 "Grand Maurices" in a row so he will be pulling out all stops at Cancon
