Today I finished off an element of Cv for my Ming Chinese. Sadly the changes at work with our new office may put paid to my long term habit of painting my figures at lunchtime. Our new office has no on site carparking and the carpark in our old building (right next door) has been closed off. It is a good 1.5km walk from the long stay carpark and I don't plan on doing that with a box full of paints and figures. The security desk will not let me drop off the paints then go and park my car, so after one go of schlepping my stuff from the long stay carpark to my office I will have to rethink my whole painting process - probably taking a very short lunch and leaving earlier. One more reason to dislike the new office Cheers

For preliminary 'sticking' I have been going the super glue/baking soda route. I then beef things up with two part epoxy.
Not always pretty as I tend to do a number of figures at a time, but it works well enough.
As to painting, I have quite a few Mountain/Republican/Classical/Vedic Indians, Normans, Undead, Han/Three Kingdom, Early Armenians, Greeks, and some others to shade/varnish and possibly do some work on the bases.
Along with Sarmations, MIR, Franks, Feudal archers and crossbowa, Sassanids, Greeks, Successors, more Indians (fleshing out the options), and some Huns being painted.

Blutack is quite similar to play-doh, right? Just a bit more "tacky" if I understand correctly. I believe that the "poster glue" that some German glue makers sell is more or less the same stuff. Very effective for the job too.
I wish miniature manufacturers would clarify what ammount of assembly their miniatures require. For example, with Essex you really never know.

Definitely a consideration there felixs - as is the lack of pins or tabs with some parts to help in the construction. Having to hold parts in alignment while the epoxy sets can be a pain.

Sheffmark - just a card table. The miniatures reside in trays between painting sessions. Quite a few trays...

Finished fourteen elements of late medieval infantry; 6 x 4Lb, 4 x 7Hd, 2 x Mtd-4Lb, 2 x camp guard. These will be varnished and tomorrow I can do their bases.
Cavalry next.

One more reason to dislike the new office Cheers I used to get 40 mins per day for lunch at my previous employer and used 20-30 mins per day to get some paint work done.I used the GW cases with cut foam to carry my figures and a mini tool box for paints etc. This worked great until I joined the field crew as taking extra off-shore was a no-no. However, the shore based jobs worked great as some had a 24 hour lay off due to the oil flows being too slow that I had most the day to paint in my hotel room.I completed two full Regiments of 25mm Parliamentary Cavalry on one job. Now I have no chance as a delivery driver!😁

Mill I worked at it was half an hour.
Subsidized lunches at the old boarding house (great food) were a buck, but by the time you loaded up and drove there and then got back to where you had been working it wasn't worth wolfing the meal down...
