And today I finished off 1xPs (Javelins) and 1x3Bd for the Ming To answer Greg's question above - my Ming are a mongrel mix of whatever figures are to hand: it includes Outpost Ch'ing for the Bd with a Grumpy Miniatures Ming General on foot thrown in with the 3Bd What I think are Grumpy Miniatures Ming for the archers and Cavalry - but with an Essex Mounted (Tang) Chinese General for the commander Peter Pig Rocket Launchers for one of the Art elements - and a bombard for the other The crew are a mix including an Essex Sung Spearman (they actually look Ming ) Some Essex Sung Crossbows for the Cb elements The javelinmen are actually a Magister Militum Chinese Convict and a Eureka Nan Chao Khurusan Miniatures Southern Tribal figures for the Tribal Ax. On the other hand my Yi Dynasty Korean are pure Grumpy Miniatures Yi no deviation. I am extremely happy with the Ps element now that it is fully done with the ground, rocks and tufts. Cheers

I just finished painting an Early Swiss army with lots of flags and 6Bd! Hopefully I'll have it based by the weekend and photos to follow.

Nearly finished my Marian legions ! I chose to base my 4Bd on 20mm deep bases, instead of my usual 15mm deep for solid Bd/Pk/Sp

The armies are both coming along nicely

I was looking at some other stuff from Eureka (following inspiration from Kaptain Kobald) already so may have enough for an order soon..... however, I own too much unpainted lead already!

Finished re-basing my Ming today. Except for the Southern Tribes, I can field every option in the list.
Now they only need magnets under their bases (will do that tonight) and a few touch-ups and they are good to go.
I look forward to playing with that army, as they are such a hodge-podge. Plus, the two elements of artillery should be entertaining.
Also started working on the new Knight elements for my Teutonic Order. The old Ritterbrüder are going to be based as 6Kn, so I need another four elements of Knights. I am going for an element of Stralsund knights, and the rest will also be from different Hanse cities. This will make for a more or less believably army to crusade against the Stedinger ("Free Canton"), which I would like to get at some point.

The Ming are finished. I am not quite happy with the results on the shields. I tried to base mine on the designs in the Wubeizhi (武备志) manual, but they are very hard to paint. Much to detailed. I ended up with something that looks as if straight out of a badly drawn cartoon. Possibly very fine-tipped felt markers would allow something more detailed and impressive. But maybe foregoing these shield designs entirely would be even better...
