Scale creep seems to be the hobby norm. Its first hit we 25mm guys as we have crept up to 28mm and now 32mm has started to appear. Fortunately the plastic companies lead by the Perry Bros have settled on a "small" 28mm size so are cross compatiable.
15mm started as 1:120, now has risen to 1:100 and recently a company started callings 1:87 (HO) 15mm. It used to be the old 20mm "scale" which has grown through 1:76 to become finally standarized at 1:72 (which for old timers was the original 25mm "scale").
Phil remains (happily) in the Dark Ages of figure size - hence his reluctance to give us adequate sized depths to accomdate current figure ranges. It seems most of us have just gone with 15-20mm depth for 15's and 20-30mm depth for 25/8mm. Phil did give us the option of 40-45mm depth for 25/8 mounted (but not out to 50mm for some reason).
My current basing convention (28mm): Solid: 20mm depth; Fast: 30mm depth. "Heavy Foot": Pike/Blades/Spear etc. 4 figures; "Medium Foot": Bow/Aux/Warband etc. 3 figures. I find varying base depth works better to distinguish Solid/Fast than figure count. Close order Foot looks cool cramped (literally) together shoulder to shoulder while the "bigger" posses of archers and warband types look and fit better 3 per base. (Also serves as rough reminder of Combat Factor.) Since 28mm is not a traditional "scale" for DBX I don't feel any great compulsion to stick with the old and rather arbitrary basing schemes.

What is the best way of posting photos here since photobucket started charging your weight in gold for third party hosting rights and priced their links right out of the market?

Paddy I asked this same question here a couple of months ago for the same reasons you mentioned: fanaticus.boards.net/thread/830/picture-hosting-sites-photobucketI have found the easiest way is to just post them directly.

Another base for my 15mm Ottoman DBA army. Theses are meant to be Iayalar fanatics, I've no idea what they should look like so I used generic Arab figures (no one will notice :-) ).
