Martin,
Assuming the bloke from Bournemouth is a member of the SoA, could you also mention the Championship to him and ask him to have his membership number handy please?
This also applies to any other SoA members who are planning to attend.

Sue has just posted in the Yahoo group saying that once the remaining copies from the latest run have been sold, WRG will be switching to PoD via Lulu.

I do not agree that there are errors in the rules. You wrote that and "there are also errors in the rules." Meaning that there are errors in the diagrams and also in the rules. The rules, however, are the definitive statement of the game. There may be sections difficult to understand, but there cannot be errors in the rules. I would like to know what they are. Can you list what you think are errors in the rules? How about your own example, Bob? LH in close combat with Art are forced to flee. They turn 180 degrees and move directly to their rear, but meet friends they cannot interpenetrate. Next bound, the Art shoots at them. They get another "flee" result, about face and charge back into contact with the Art (and another round of close combat). That's what the rules say, but is it really what was intended. Similarly, take the case of an element which has an enemy element less than its recoil distance directly in front of it. It is shot at from behind and has to recoil, so it turns 180 degrees and reverses into the enemy element which it had been facing before it was shot at. It then turns round again and there is a bound of close combat. Maybe not an error in this case, but a slightly odd outcome.

I'm losing track. Was there another print run over the summer or are we still waiting for it to happen?
In the UK, Amazon, Black Hat and Caliver all list it as currently out of stock.

The later start wouldn't be a problem for me - and I never need to stay until the very end anyway.
Might be a problem for Martin, as he is due to work later that evening.

Black Hat Miniatures have just announced on Facebook that they have sold all 15mm / 18mm ranges to another company. They will be available to order from that company next week. Further details - including, presumably, the name of the company concerned will be announced "shortly".
Press release to follow at the end of the week with more details.

i dont have them Im not entirely sure if i can make this one as currently no army and no spare cash to get one, unless somehow essex will deliver next day and i paint it in 3 days... We're not fussed if you make up a Korean army from Parthian 4Kn, Welsh 3Pk and Elamite 3Bw. I have the Parthians. Not sure I can manage to paint a Northern Welsh army and an Elamite army as well in time for the competition though.

More reports added to start of thread. Cheers I'm really enjoying these. Thank you for taking the time to make them (while running a tournament!).

I would certainly use them in a competition. Whether or not this makes it a competitive list, may be a slightly different matter, but they can be a lot of fun.

I think the answer is that there probably is room for another tournament, especially as I assume the Mercian will not run next year, given the organiser's re-location. Is the Mercian not running next year? I thought some of the Coventry guys said they'd take it over after Pete's move? An assumption on my part, Mark. I may be wrong. Indeed, I often am.

Simon
I think the answer is that there probably is room for another tournament, especially as I assume the Mercian will not run next year, given the organiser's re-location. Whether or not Roll Call fits the bill, might be a different question.
Key to answering the latter might be (a) accessibility and (b) cost. Most of the competitions I attend are ones within easy-ish reach of home, which means I can travel there and back on the day. When that is the norm, an over-night stay pushes up the cost considerably and potential players might feel they have to pick and choose which ones to attend.

Magister Militum also sell them, although I don't think they actually mention this on their website. (I bought a couple for my Sarmatians, which are also Mag Militum.)

Second hand knitting needles cut to different lengths for me. But make sure you line the distance up with the edge of the hacksaw blade, not the centre, that extra millimetre could make all the difference one day!! No such thing as second-hand knitting needles, Mark, at least so my C-in-C tells me. I am sure Colin the Hittite will confirm.

In the U.K. if you are lucky the SoA if doing a promotion at a competition (and they have stock) do an excellent one, which has been given away free in the past. David Constable Sadly they have all been allocated, David, and I don't think they are planning to get any more.
