Further to the sad news about Frank's death, I have heard from the Sheffield Wargame Society that the funeral will be on Wednesday 25th January, at 3:15 at City Road Crematorium. It will be a simple service, and there will be no social gathering afterwards. There will also be a memorial service, date to be confirmed, at Sheffield church of the Nazarene in Heeley. I'll let you know the date of this as soon as I hear it.

I discovered it in this blog. And the postwoman just bring the book to me. Let's read/translate it and paint/sculpt some figurines, and play it ! I do like the Ganesha game engine - the Galleys and Galleons naval rules also play well. Cheers Simon

Following the current thread on grid based DBA, I started to wonder what other non-DBA miniature rule sets (any period, grid or no grid) Fanaticus members regularly play.
To get the ball rolling, I like Lion Rampant, Fistful of Lead, OHW and other Neil Thomas rules, Bob Cordery Portable wargames.
Over to you!
Happy New Year, Simon

For Operational level games, might also be worth looking at Martin Rapier's free Panzer Gruppe rules tgamesweplay.blogspot.com/p/downloads.htmland the PZ8 Divisional WW2. Both very simple but subtle games on 2 sides of A4! Simon

Just bought some 28mm Gripping Beast plastic Dark Age Welsh for Lion Rampant. Also looking at the Tumbling Dice 1/600 jets to play Instant Thunder with!

I'd prefer the flashlight ZOC method.
