I would like to get a feel from this forum, in one thread, which rules we dba players would really like to see tweaked so as to make even better this great game of ours. If you could make only one change what would it be? I am not asking for reasons, though feel free to explain. To get the ball rolling I would like to remove the quick kill on evens that 3Bd inflict on 3Kn. There are quite a few other things I would like to see changed but this one really niggles me. Thanks Stephen

Oddly I love that rule
Tempted to say I am a bit of a fundamentalist and the great Purple Tome is perfect in its creation. We mortals are at fault if we fail to understand it
Probably something a to help LH armies with actual ranged shooting of some type. But could this then make the little buggers a bit too good? I know you said one but option if both players agree to make up a points based force rather than use one from book lists.
I am now off to flagellate myself for impure thoughts

Thanks Stephen 100 players, 100 different answers? 🙃 (mine relates to shooting blocked by terrain interpretation, but I just shrug my shoulders and carry on…and I’m fine with the Bd/Kn interaction, myself).

Mine would be the implied rule that sometimes you have to lose!

And mine always recoil or pursue your exact base length...

I'd prefer the flashlight ZOC method.

I'd like to see Paddy Green's rule suggestion included...for a 1/2 pip movement cost to move LH...then you'd see some real danger from LH heavy armies...as you should.😉

I'm new, but if i had to change one rule, it would be to add something the offensive player has to do in order to not auto lose against the defender. Because offensive and defensive role miss something i think.

Ax recoil a full base width from Pike and Blade... that one first. Pk recoil all non-Pikes on a tie for a second. 3Bd only quick-kill 4Kn on ties for a third.

Thanks for the responses chaps. Not too many so far - which suggests that Baldie is almost right about perfection (I hope you are feeling OK now by the way. Self flagellation can be dangerous so I am told). Perhaps we will have a few more in the next couple of days.

FWIW my experience differs from yours in that I do not think that the offensive player automatically loses against the defender. I would say that on balance the better player will win - though by no means always. Dice are a wonderful leveller. I wonder if your present playing style is affecting the results. That might be something to think about. All the best. Stephen

I wanted to say that the invader has no obligation to attack in game. I would like him to have kind of an objective, which could "force" him to move. But i also like the idea of a draw, which make some house rules like timed days not really fit in this point of view. I hope it's more understandable like this ^^

DBN has a good little rule where invader has to move certain elements towards the enemy until they get to close range. If they only move one element and it is killed they have to move another.
