Comrades; how are these elements classified in close combat? Foot or mounted? I can't find anything definitive in the rules. To me, mounted as I don't imagine them landing to fight on foot. Any thoughts?

Mary Beard - "SPQR". A bit of a chew at times so will be at it for a while. Certainly informative that's for sure.

Wanted more pikes in my Alexander armies so decided to create bigger units: Basically a phalanx at 100:1, still 6x4Pk , depends on how you look at it. Haven't actually tried them in action yet to figure how to apply the rules. The figures are mostly 1/72 plastic with 20mm metal figures here and there filling the gaps.

Thanks; they are old Games Workshop, got back in the days when bargains could be had on EBay, with a couple of Reaper(?) as well.

I use plastics for DBR, etc too, I've been aiming to get my armies up to 300 pts in DBR from the twelve BBR RRR elements. So far only managed Muscovites and Samurai. One of these days I'll get these Ottomans up to 300:

Hmmm... be nice to see a 1/72 plastics board. I'm a big fan and about 98% of my DBA armies are in this medium and scale. Yes, they do have their problems, biggest bugbears for me are incomplete ranges and badly represented historical periods.

Same as timurilank, except mine are twice as deep, the armies being 1/72.
