You should always have slightly more terrain than you would ever really have a use for.
I have tried bits of wood, carpet and foam for hills.
I much prefer something in 3D but certainly for DBA / DBN the flat use of craft foam etc is just so much more practical.

I came I saw I got slaughtered
The laughter of my opponent as he crushed my empire will remain with me forever.
I am sure he will post to gloat of his great victory, I certainly would.🙈🙉🙊

After a big break I'm back in the saddle and painting an Alexandrian Macedonian army. Good luck I undercoatedmine a year ago and they are still on the painting queue or at least the pike bits, rest are still in box. This year for sure.

On the back of finishing Carthaginian enemies for my Polybian Romans I’ve decided to finish off the rest of the Punic War armies with Spanish, Gauls and Numidians. All quickly delivered from Xyston and very nice looking! Stick em up when done Xyston can do no wrong in my eyes.

Does the washing machine not get in the way? As a hill it is a little large, makes a fab Great Gargant though.

Waiting for the undercoat to dry on 60 cavalry figures, I took the time to play test Montlhéry again. This time I added demoralisation for each ‘battle’. This added another dimension to game, greatly improving the game. Full report with photos in a few days. Way to spoil my day, I just put decals on 2 x Hind helicopters and 2 x Frogfoot planes for my 6mm Northag force and decided to have a cup of tea to celebrate. Starting on 60 cavalry smashes that.

In Aldi this week they have some wear free mats. They are like the normal coir mats but much shorter fibres, look like a cut field so can still be used for 28mm, 15mm and 6mm. The underside is a bit like the anti vibration mats you can put under a washing machine which I have used in the past as a tarmac road.

Don't ya' just hate scale creep? Once upon a time, they were called "25's". And 15’s weren’t 18’s and 6’s weren’t 8’s and no-one had heard of 10’s and 12’s... Trousers used to fit, top buttons on shirts could be fastened and no one had heard of elasticated Jean's.
