I assure you if you saw how I blob paint on figs covering it up with ink and using highlights to neatly cover over mistakes is an escential part of the process. I have detested doing the cav bug determined to finish off my first basic DBN force as hopefully it will be one of the games played at a garden play date comin up. Got shed loads more to do to get anywhere near a Blucher force though needless to say I got a much larger order than was sensible. Then got a smaller French order as a way to lure some of my club mates into the joy of 6mm Naps.

Battling my way through some cavalry elements for my DBN Russians, really not enjoying them despite the Baccus sculpts being great. Nearly at the ink stage where for my figs the magic happens turning blobs of coloured metal into passable figs then the highlights sort em.

Ancient British are by far my fave force, terrible win rate but you feel amazing if you actually manage it.

Very interesting ideas. Such simplified rules would be very useful for playing with children or with those who are completely unfamiliar with wargames. Most of us gamers then!

Major makeover of my II/19d Seleucids underway here. I mean, how can I call myself an Ancients gamer if I don't have a Seleucid army, right? All vintage Mikes Models, of course. I got to get round to my Pikes so the Seleucids can be fielded correctly, currently some spears act as pikes and I keep promising them.

Hi Folks! I occasionally make video journals of my solo wargames and thought I would upload some of them to a YouTube channel for others to see. I recently uploaded ‘DBA 3 0 Polybian Rome v Thrace’ here… www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsrByoBVky8&t=984s“A solo game of De Bellis Antiquitatis v 3.0. There are sure to be some mistakes made in my implementation of the rules - please let me know in the comments if you find anything and mention the time at which the mistake occurred, so that I can make notes here so folks will get the most out of the video. Enjoy!” I am no expert – just sharing the fun I had playing the battle. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers! - Jeff Cheers for sharing, you can never have too much DBA
