Those little pins look like they would make excellent in-scale kebabs. Now, where is the castle kitchen…? 🤣😂 Cheers, Geoff

Given that I enjoy pain and anguish I have decided on a new AB force in 6mm A chum is doing Strength and Honour in 6mm and my EAP force for impetus will do for S&H At the great Joy of Six show I got some AB for S&H but realised it is far more sensible to base em for DBA and use 4 bases as a S&H base No doubt it will be about 20 years before they are on table 20 year gap between purchase and figures finally painted & on the table? Nah. I have figures purchased 45 years ago and still not even undercoated. I would have said “beat that” but I suspect there will be a fair few gamers in a similar situation. Cheers, Geoff

I humbly suggest the Blade General unit really ought to feature the character “Blade”… Who’d have thought it.

I was offered a job making mirrors , that's something I could see myself doing . I’m the opposite. I was offered a job testing blindfolds, but that was something I couldn’t see myself doing… 😀

You are certainly one busy (and well organised) chap Macbeth. 😀 For what it’s worth, I often checkout your book recommendations. Like toy soldiers, you can never have too many books. Cheers, Geoff

and the solution is .... play on a grid!! Have you seen the fast play 3x3 Portable Wargames (or FP3X3PW as it’s known) at all? In particular you might want to checkout the blog of Archduke Piccolo - he’s just fought an impressive Byzantine campaign chock full of action and ideas. And you can use figures/bases of any size, as long as you are consistent (and they fit in whatever size squares you’ve designed for the battlefield). Bob Cordery’s Wargaming Miscellany is another good place to check, as is the “The Portable Wargame” Facebook page. Cheers, Geoff

This afternoon I put the final touches on the very last element (4Ax) of my Lysimachid army. This makes army number 156 I also finished 1x4Bw for the Post Mongol Samurai. The still have three elements to go before they join the ranks of the fully purple compliant. Cheers Just out of simple curiosity, what do you reckon would be the last ever army you’d make purple compliant? And why? Are there any armies that you just wouldn’t bother to make compliant, or even bother to build at all? Or do you need to “have ‘em all”? Cheers, Geoff

If I can save money on postage & packing then that’s extra ££’s to spend on toy soldiers 👍😀

Luckily (for me) I’ve already agreed to buy the Burmese book. And, being a frugal Yorkshireman, I will indeed be picking up the book at Hammerhead on Saturday. Chers, Geoff

Ha Ha! No need for a time machine 1000 is the start time in 24hr clock! Simon I had a suspicion that might be the case. Geoff

The date for this will be Saturday 2 July 1000 at the Medway Centre… I just spotted the above. Presumably no armies allowed after 1000A.D. no? Otherwise I reckon we would be straying into the realms of science fiction/future war. Geoff 😀
