Nearly finished my Marian legions ! I chose to base my 4Bd on 20mm deep bases, instead of my usual 15mm deep for solid Bd/Pk/Sp

they were "francised" or "frankised" northmen in my opinion, which is more french than english ;P But they were for sure the reason for centuries of war between the British and us. Moreover, I think that at the time there was no such thing as french or english: there were Franks, Britons, Danes, Saxons, etc. Our national feelings are quite recent. And I'm an open guy : my sister in law is British

In fact in example 2, the flanking element didn't have enough movement to flank properly. I said it couldn't flank and my friend wasn't convinced : that's why I posted it I was sure but I wanted my friend to bend the knee in the face of the whole DBA community saying he was wrong !

Another cool batrep: I did indeed enjoy it Celtiberians are a tough nut to crack: yesterday evening, my friend playing Polybian romans learned that even caetrati are vicious foes as they flanked and destroyed his general

Nice BatReps ! Warbands armies are quite devastating against Rome when the Celtic God of Luck is watching them

Thanks for your replies !! I'll try them and hope to defend It'll be tricky agaisnt Later macedonians and other low aggression armies of the period. Thracians Ax with Romphaias have a nice aggressive look

As I'm playing quite a lot these days so I'm thinking about what new army I could add to my collection of the punic Wars era. I currently own: II/11 Gauls, II/32a later carthaginians, II/33 Polybian romans, II/35 later macedonians, II/39b Celtiberians. I like the II/19c Seleucids (for their variety of cool troops:4Kn, El, Sch) and the I/48 Thracians (3Ax with romphaias ). As I already have a pike army I'm more into the Thracians first. I'd like to go for the following version: General (3Kn or Cv or 4Ax), 3 x (LH or 4Ax), 6 x (3Ax, not interested in 4Ax neither Ps options) and 2 x (Ps). Have you any feedback on Thracians ?? Do you think 4Ax and Ps options are a "must have" ? Thanks

Nice looking armies and nice reports. Good thing you went for that third battle so that the Gauls had some consolation... A bit of a surprise that the first two were so lopsided though. Fortuna wasn't on the gallic side: not one single combat won by 3Wb, ties at best. No QK and lucky Celtiberians Ps and Gen on the flanks.

During both games the Warbands were unable to win fights against the Blades, so without their QK being triggered, they were pushed, flanked and destroyed. Two turns in a row the whole battleline combats were ties ! ... Except on the flanks: Celt Psilois doubled gallic Wb and then, well not a good moment for the two ranks center of the Gauls I love 3Wb, but when unlucky, they're rapidly endangered. I played a third game, this time warbands managed to QK and punch a hole through the Celtiberian line, then they encircled the ennemy general: 4 (including Gen)-1 for the Gauls. They saved their honor: In the center, the Gallic general beheaded the Celtiberian general in person !

Today I played 2 games: Celtiberians VS Gauls. In the first game a peaceful gallic hamlet was assaulted by Celtiberian raiders ! The Chieftain mustered his tribesmen and prepared for the defense of his land: The raiders It was a bloody day for the peaceful Gauls, for they were butchered like pigs by the Celtiberian raiders who quickly won on the flanks and destroyed Wb elements by pair... Result: 5-0 for Celtiberians ! Ashamed and angered by this vicious raid, the surviving Gallic Chieftain took his tribesmen in a revenge raid to the hilly lands of the Celtiberians... Oath are shouted as the battlelines are closing ! And the meatgrinder starts Gauls are being pushed back And quickly overrunned... 4-0 for the undefeated Celtiberians !
