Looking forward to it, Greg. And thanks for again putting your hand up to organise this comp.
Great that with themes like 'Vanilla Auxilia', we get to use armies that wouldn't normally be seen at a tournament. I'm tossing up between Early Samurai and Thracian.
Cheers Mark

Really looking forward to the event....and some warmth....it's starting to turn a little chilly down here!
Ok.....I'll be the first to reveal my army selections. For 'Elephants in the Room', I'm going with I/58 Meroitic Kushite. And for 'Art for Art's Sake', my choice is II/25 Bosporan.
What are other people taking?
Cheers Mark

Sincere apologies....work has intruded a little too much over the past week or so and I haven't had a chance to post the results of the 'Knight to Remember' comp. First of all thanks to everyone who participated. It was a great day and the armies were superb.
I really like these themed comps - people certainly get into the spirit of them. At the conclusion of the comp, I suggested next years might be bow-themed. But during a few cleansing ales, it was suggested that shooting rules (who shoots who, in what order etc) might become a little tedious and I should rethink things. I did! And 2024 will be 'A Day at the Seaside', where all armies must be Littoral. It should be fun with all those amphibious landings, both from attackers and defenders.
Ok....enough of that.....drum roll, please....
The rankings in order were:
Gary Moriarty III/3 Italian Ostrogothic Adam Stone III/28 Carolingian Frankish Michael Callan IV/74 Free Company Mark Brandon-Baker IV85a Burgundian Ordonnance David Williams III/52 West Frankish Justin Swain II/74b Palmyran Brenton Searle III/3 Italian Ostrogothic Greg Kelleher III/71a Georgian Steve Hopkins IV/30 Teutonic Order Phil Baldoni II/37 Parthian David Lawrence IV/30 Teutonic Order Leigh Dunn II/36a Graeco Bactrian
Congratulations to Gary for a well earned win and Adam who took the runner-up spot. The 'Executioner' prize went to Michael Callan with 6 kills.
Many thanks to Greg Kelleher for assistance with set-up and Dave Lawrence for his usual excellent admin services.
Hope to see many of you at Briscon at the end of April. Cheers, Mark

David Lawrence! Our shared faith requires that we face the unworthy as a coherent force. I invoke shenanigans on this St Patrick's Day and that we mass against the unbelievers...... Or maybe a plus 1? Hate to break it to you, Steve.....but the way I read the draw for the first round, there's a real chance of a schism within Teutonic ranks and battle might need to resolve which of you will be the Grand Master of the Order!

I've used the Essex Sassanid Levy Spearman for lots of different nationalities - head swapping is very easy!
