Like Scott and others I enjoyed the venue, could I ask however if a single A4 sheet showing rooms traders etc. could be produced in future, I nearly missed one room of traders.

Hello Colin
5-2 sounds OK.
It was a good die, but Alan had it back.
I think the problem was the dice cup actually, after your game I did a quick test, by dropping it in six up and shaking, I then got a high number of 6s. I changed my shake method after the first game, but it was a good die, as PAWS die tend to be.

On Saturday I played a few games of DBA3, Colin suffered badly from my borrowed dice throws.
The die was borrowed from Alan, and he got it from me.
Now to my query/thought/idea. Most times I burn dice I do not like, this is fine, but I wonder what people are going to make of an Elizabethan (Elizabeth the first) drain with melted plastic dice in it, a very secure datable find.
How many finds have altered what we think of as history, but that are in fact out of place.

The problem with groups is bases, in a real battle bases do not exist, so the logical thing is for the group, even if it is the entire army, to align.

DBA is a simple? set, it gives you only the information you need (in theory).
It will only say you cannot do something when it needs to, so you work on the principle that you can do something unless the rules specifically say you cannot (within reason).
The style causes unforeseen consequences, and problems that need sorting. It also means that the board edge tactical factor is not listed in tactical factors. You have to go with the rules as written, as far as possible, and not look for problems that do not exist, if unsure or unhappy with something, before playing a game check with your opponent.
Just general thoughts.

The phrase "The North begins at Watford" pre dates the M1 Is it not 'North of the Watford Gap'? Not the same thing. The phrase probably varies with date and location.
I can remember "the North begins at Watford" from the first half of the 1960s, then it was associated with the M1 and its sign.
The Watford Gap is geographical, not an actual place (town etc.), so would not necessarily appear on maps from those days. For those who do not know it, it is a gap in a line of hills where the railway, road, river and canal all pass through the gap in very close proximity.

P.S. - If the phrase pre-dates the M1, there might have been a sign on the A1 (Roman road) which said Watford and the North.

If you have not done so read the "Still Going?" post, it mentions about the operating system needed.

In America you might want to look at, and ask about DBA 2.2+ as well.

Happy Christmas, new year, Burns night or whatever your festival at this time, even if it is only Bacchus.
My thoughts go out to all those who have, or do, suffer bereavement at this time of year. I lost my father October 2011, mother December 2015, Sister January 2013, so for my sisters nieces it is not a good time of year, on their mothers side there is only me.

Well it looks like I might be in for Christmas, I might only have a bed and Christmas tree, but that is better than nothing.
Happy Christmas or whatever your festival around that time to all.

I do not think anybody who has been brought up in the computer and mobile phone age will every have felt the excitement that those of us who watched it live did.
We used phones (not mobile) and our mouths to talk to people, and the library (with printed books).
Dad woke up me and my sister, we went down stairs to all our neighbours from both sides sitting in their night attire waiting and watching on a black and white 405 line TV the proceedings.
It was a moment in history.

Not 100% on subject, but I was thinking of trying the Magister Militum 3mm figures to correct depths, probably 40mm wide bases.
Has anybody any experience of this size with DBA?

Thanks, did not realize there were so many variants, glad my memory of a single star was correct.
