The bad news is that unfortunately, no really good options to buy from in contintental Europe exist, unless you are interested in the niches covered by the manufacturers mentioned so far. Which all do make excellent figures and other stuff.
I believe that the increased popularity of 3D printing in wargaming in continental Europe has to do with the problematic situation of availability for many ranges of wargames miniatures.
Do you know whether those fees are national or standardized in EU? IIRC you pay VAT at the rate for the country you are in . Yes, that is true. However, the customs service is quite erratical in Germany (and, I assume, in other EU states too). The post company (which also imposes fees) is worse.
Plus they do not only add VAT, but also a handling fee - I am not sure whether the handling fee is imposed by the customs service, the post company, or by both. It seems to vary wildly.
I am not sure on what grounds exactly these things are decided in practice, but it feels like a lottery.
For large orders, it might be worth the hassle. For small orders (which my orders usually were in the past), I find it too much of a nuisance and avoid doing it. This has drastically reduced my spending on wargames related items - while I have ordered two or three times a year from UK based companies in the past, I have now not done so for two years.

I too tested with armies of 8 to 15 elements. The rules work fine. I think it would be nice to have some guidelines in the rules on how to do that size of game.

Now I wonder how many of you use 2mm ranged armies? And what BW (40 or 60mm or else) do you prefer for them?
I have some 2mm armies. They look great. I prefer them on 40mm bases.
The beauty of 2mm is that you can create a believable sense of mass, with troops and with terrain and buildings.

Absolutely fascinating. I would have been quite sure that dice towers were a recent invention, if asked. How wrong I would have been.
Would make a great camp. Or just a gaming table requisite.

Beautiful. I really like the figures, the painting, and the old-school basing.

While balancing is an issue and while there always is (and has been) a discussion on what troops should be what type, I really like the Fast/Solid differentiation. With Blades, there may be an issue of Fast Blades being too good. With Warbands, I find the differentiation absolutely great; even though the Fast type is much better. With Auxilia, the differentiation is also very welcome, but the Solid type lacks a bit of staying power. Fast and Solid Bow are also a good idea, since tribal archers and drilled mass-archers are quite different things. Fast Pikes are strange and I agree that they should probably be Auxilia in most cases. But overall, nothing that is really problematic in friendly play. And competitive play does not interest me.
While historical accuracy is always debatable, I find that the Fast/Solid differentiation gives more interesting, more involving games.

That city and castle look great. And the modular make allows for many variations. Great idea and beautifully built

(Which means that every player has a standard PIP throw of 1 in his turn. )
That would render Hordes and Elephants unable to move after the first turn

I assume the silence means "no"?
Apologies for missing this one! We have only four weeks left of Alpha testing and then we hope to move to the final phase of constructing the Beta version for checking in early 2024. If you message me with your email details, I’ll include you in the Beta phase for feedback on the final product. Regards Paul
That is great, thank you very much!
I have sent you my email.
Very excited, and I promise to behave

Thank you very much! Is there any chance to still become part of the playtest team? I am very excited about this and can't wait to get my hands on those rules.

Possibly this is one of those cases where it would be better to go with what the rules are probably trying to say (due to common sense*) and not with what the most literal interpretation might be.
*I know that "common sense" is not the best argument and I do realize how uncommon a common sense of common sense is between two persons. However, in this case it seems quite easy to agree on how a road is used in practice and how a road functions on a battlefield.

Is there more info on that upcoming set of fantasy rules somewhere? Is there a playtest version or something? I am quite excited about this.

It is a forthcoming fantasy rules set from WRG. It is based on DBA, but will feature larger sized battles with a point purchase system for armies... You standard battle will be about 36 elements per side. Smaller and larger games are of course possible.
Oh cool, that is much more than I dared to hope to ever happen
