That sounds interesting. I am going to try that. Great for campaigns.

I would say if the BUA is representing a port or harbour then on the waterway.

In East Anglia there are places you can still identify the old "Ridge and Furrow" field shapes. Mainly on pasture land that has not been intensively cultivated.

At 20mm scale I use casualty figures. As a unit is destroyed after the third hit you only need two per units.
I also use 2mm and then I use a small green coloured dice behind the unit.

Firstly, it's nice to be back. Apologies for the long absence. I had a date with cancer. Lost a kidney, but all good now.
So...
If you had the choice between taking 3Kn or 4Kn in an army, why would you choose 3Kn? Same PIPs, same movement, same CFs, same QK. Only differences:
1. 3Kn recoil 4Kn on ties (but see next)... 2. 4Kn do not pursue. 3Kn nearly always pursue.
Pursuit often results in overlaps against the pursuer, usually a -1 or -2 combat modifier.
A combat between a line of 3Kn vs a similar line of 4Kn, resulting in a recoiled 4Kn (because of a tie or less than doubled result) will usually put the pursuing 3Kn in an overlapped position next bound, either -1 or 2 depending on the number of overlapping elements and the position of the particular pursuing 3Kn element in the opposing lines. So next bound, that 'winning' 3Kn will likely find itself in trouble.
Why would you choose a 3Kn if you could take a 4Kn instead?
Cheers
Good to see you back, Pray for a swift and full recovery.

It is a miracle our generation group fairly normal. On TV we were exposed to "Muffin the Mule", and the Magic roundabout, with a dope smoking Rabbit and Zebbade desperately trying to get Florence to go to bed!
On Top of that we had Tom and Jerry, 5 minutes filled with gratuitous violence, then Blue Peter where following a visit by the female presenter to a Cathedral where she was explaining about the doors sanctuary handles, John Noakes said "Whoa, What a great pair of knockers!"
Not to mention Noddy and Big Ears and their interesting relationship., and then there were Christopher Robin and his girlfriend Alice who, in the rhyme, appeared to commit some sexual act at Buckingham Palace as expressed in the line "Christopher Robin went down with Alice!"
Yes it is amazing we survived our childhood years unscathed!

That is really good. Makes my Parthian camp look cheap and tatty!
To be honest I think it always was cheap and tatty but your wonderful edifice has shown it up!

I game the Italian Wars a fair amount. I tend to use my Pikes to slow up the oppositions Knights. I usually place skirmishers either side. This has worked well in the past unless the enemy bring up shot or crossbows.

But you are special in so many ways I always believed that my mother told me I needed to be special. Then I later found out she said I had special needs.

When visiting the battlefields eons ago, the curator started talking to me and, upon discovering I was an American (of all things), he gave me a musket ball from the battles! What? you mean he shot you!
