Oops! I have no idea where I got the III/40b Vikings vs. the III/73a Communal Italians from.
Perhaps staring at all these army lists for too long caused me to start hallucinating....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, here are some more Book III errors:-
III/47 Pecheneg Army (850 AD – 1122 AD) add III/30b Magyar Army (896 AD – 1003 AD)
III/30b Magyar Army (896 AD – 1003 AD) add III/47 Pecheneg Army (850 AD – 1122 AD)
(These two are not listed as mutual enemies...but I wonder if they should be.
Army III/47 are listed as mutual enemies of the III/30a Magyars of 650-895, and of the later III/68ab Hungarians of 997-1245, but not the III/30b Magyars of 896-1003 in between these two dates.
Possibly an omission caused by the expansion of the III/30 Magyars into two new sub-lists?)
III/48 Rus Army (860 AD – 1054 AD) change Ally from III/14a to III/14c Bulgar Army (804 AD – 1018 AD)
(Having the III/14a Bulgars of 558-674 as allies is far too early for the III/48 Rus. Ally III/14c is a much better fit.)
III/53 East Frankish Army (888 AD – 1106 AD) remove III/72 Anglo-Danish Army (1014 AD – 1075 AD)
(Army III/53 lists III/72 as an enemy, but III/72 doesn’t mention the III/53 East Franks, only the III/52 Normans.
Looks like another East-West Frankish mix-up.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are also a few other items from Books I and II that have already been covered but need clearing up:-
I/56a Early Kyrenean Army (630 BC – 314 BC) remove II/12 Alexandrian Macedonian Army (359 BC – 319 BC)
(I would like to remove this, as we have agreed to leave them as mutual enemies.
Alex the Great and his dad Phil didn’t invade Cyrenicia, but Ptolemy did, using army II/12...using local 4Ax troops instead of hypaspists of course.)
I/52h Aitolian/Akarnanians (668 BC – 449 BC) change? I/60a to 1/60c Achaemenids (550 BC – 547 BC)? --or neutrals?—
(It is relatively easy to say who-fought-who...you just have to point to a sentence written by an ancient historian.
It is much harder to say who didn’t fight someone...you have to search for what the ancient historians didn’t say.
All the modern historians I can find say that the Aitolian/Akarnanians were neutral during the Persian invasion.)
II/4e Other Chinese Armies (355 BC - 202 BC) add II/29 Tien & K’un-Ming Chinese (295 BC – 45 AD)?
II/29 Tien & K’un-Ming Chinese (295 BC – 45 AD) change II/4d to II/4e Other Chinese Armies (355 BC - 202 BC)?
(Although II/29 lists II/4d as an enemy, army II/4d doesn’t mention II/29, and the dates don’t match.
As for who the ‘Other Chinese’ of II/4d and II/4e actually were, the DBMM list talks about several minor Chinese states such as the Chungshans, the Ch’u, the Ch’i, as well as Chinese rebels.
I assume that these minor states of II/4d upgraded themselves into II/4e, whose date does match that of II/29.)
And what is your opinion about the III/4b Early Byzantine Herul allies? Should they be:-
... change Ally II/67 to II/67b (Heruls, even after 493 AD)?
---OR---
... change Ally II/67 to II/67b (Heruls, even after 493 AD, whose 3Kn may be deployed as Sp)?
---OR---
... change Ally II/67 to II/67b (Heruls, even after 493 AD, whose 3Kn must be deployed as Sp)?
Which do you prefer?
