... I am no longer used to dba basing. Is infantry now: 2x4cm?.. Correct. The majority of infantry bases for 15mm figures is 40mm x 20mm with the artillery being twice that.

Ah, the ‘Inquisition’ is back. Just to let you know, I am redoing horde (7Hd) to 40mm x 40mm bases. Time for a reformation.

Just to pile on timurilank, while the armies overall look really nice, 4 pikemen on a 20mm base don't really give a pike block effect.
Still the refurbishment made a major improvement.
Looking forward to seeing the next pair of armies.

I do not dispute your point, however, two pike elements in column would look better and doubling the number of elements for a single command is a huge improvement. While painting the French Ordonnance infantry, I have taken two steps to improve the look of the pike. More later.

Perfect timing. Finished this morning the infantry for the French Ordonnance (1 x mtd-4Lb, 2 x Gascon skirmishers (Ps), 2 x Swiss pikemen and 2 x French pike (horde).
This afternoon my order on Legio Heroica arrived with Landsknecht, artillery and crossbow LH. The latter two were cleaned primed and are ready for painting tomorrow.

Eight elements of French Ordonnance foot and LH are done, however, half require groundwork. A start will be made after lunch on the four elements of Knights.

Couldn't find a pic of your MTD-4Lb. How did you model them? All your other stuff recently looks terrific!

I looked at the original project photos (Witcher) and the mounted longbow were not pictured. Most likely they were a later addition to the collection. Four archers cover two-thirds of a 40mm x 40mm base with a mounted archer positioned behind and parallel to the line.

Thanks Greg. I will reach the half way mark after restoring the French Ordonnance (/82b) and Italian Condotta. Ten packs of Landsknechts (pikemen, doppelsolden and handgunners) arrived from Italy and I may change plans to do the Medieval Germans (/13d) next.
