Hi all
With us rapidly closing in on the end of this season's UK league, I'm pleased to announce the following tournaments will form the provisional fixture list for the 2023/24 UK DBA league:
4th November - Cold Ash Clash (Cold Ash, Berks)
11th November - DBA at Warfare Show (Farnborough, Hants)
6th January - DBA at Tudor Arms (Slimbridge, Glos)
3rd February - DBA Vexilium Minimus (Frome, Somerset)
24th February - Mercian DBA (Coventry, West Midlands)
2nd March - DBA Northern Cup at Hammerhead Show (Newark, Notts)
23rd March - Steel Warrior DBA (Sheffield, Yorks)
27th April - Alton DBA (Alton, Hants)
18th May - Bucklebury Bash (Reading, Berks)
29th June - Midland DBA Open (Middleton by Youlgrave, Derbys)
4th August - Thornbury DBA (Thornbury, Gloucestershire)
10th/11th August - DBA Two Day Convention @ Britcon (Nottingham, Notts)
7th September - DBA Bakewell Matched Pairs (Middleton by Youlgrave, Derbys)
13th October - English DBA Open (Alton, Hants)
NOTE: This fixture list may well be amended as other tournaments are confirmed in due course, eg. PAWS Spring DBA, etc.
A revised scoring system will be in place and it's the sum of the player's best 5 tournament scores that will decide their final placing. The scoring for the 2023/24 season will be:
1st (lowest) Tier: tournaments of 10 or fewer players (or teams)
1st – 15 points, 2nd – 12 points, 3rd – 10 points, 4th – 8 points, 5th down to 10th – 6 points down to 1 point
2nd (middle) Tier: tournaments of more than 10 players (or teams) but fewer than 20
1st – 20 points, 2nd – 16 points, 3rd – 13 points, 4th – 10 points, 5th down to 11th – 8 points down to 2 points, 12th and lower – 1 point
3rd (highest) Tier: tournaments of 20 or more players or teams
1st – 25 points, 2nd – 21 points, 3rd – 18 points, 4th – 15 points, 5th down to 16th – 13 points down to 2 points, 17th and lower – 1 point
