I'm sure Paul will include a camel-wielding army or two to give me a chance ...
but even so I think it will be the year of my mate Tom Howes, over from Brussels for the Cup

Interestingly, now only 2 points separate first from fourth. It's early days, still, yet the main men are starting to take their 2024 places at the top table...

Brentford, the football club that is local to the part of London in which I now live, were promoted to the Premier league in 2021. In the first game of the 2021/22 season, the Friday-nighter, they played Arsenal and won 2-0. "Sing if you're top of the league", sang the Brentford fans. Needless to say, at the end of the season Brentford found themselves not at the top of the league but in mid-table mediocrity, coming 13th. For some reason I feel there may be a parable in there somewhere.

So Pete hosts the next tournament and being the gentleman that he is, will presumably not be trying to win his own tournament, which gives the other top 4 a chance to get more points on the board. But then he has his chance to reclaim some ground at the Northern Cup.
Then 6 out of the top 7 congregate for the Steel Warriors.
Could Mr Pulley's aversion to the bracing northern air cost him at the end of the season??!!
Will Paul H's plan to attend every DBA competition going give him enough points to win the title?
Exciting!!

They achieved promotion to the Championship the same year local rivals Fulham were relegated from the Premiership. Bees up Fulham down Bees up Fulham down Bees up Bees up etc...
