The theme for the 2024 Alton DBA, on 27th April, will be-
‘Light Horsing Around with Psiloi pSilliness’.
With a nod to the Florida ‘Wimp Wars’ events, the requirement will be that every army must contain at least six LH or LCm and/or Ps, in any combination*. The mandatory elements can be either solely with the main army or partly from an ally.
The format will be ‘My Own Worst Enemy’, in which you will be playing with and against your army in equal measure. Bear that in mind when choosing your army selection.
This is ‘early warning’, in case you need time to prepare a suitable army (extra Ps and LH should be quick to paint!)... Bookings will open and be taken from January (pre-booking will be required, details to follow).
*nb - your LH must remain mounted throughout, so no Lithuanian LH dismounting as 3Bw for this event. Other than that, dismounting per the rules is permitted, and ‘Rules As Written’ will be applied as far as possible, with the aid of FAQs.

No, LCh are (to all intents and purposes) ‘cavalry on a bigger base’ per the rules. So only LCm, LH and Ps are eligible for the ‘minimum six items’ requirement. Any combination of these, so an army might include, for example 2 x LH, 1 x LCm, 3 x Ps etc etc, or just 6+ LH or just 6+ Ps…. |
