Following the current thread on grid based DBA, I started to wonder what other non-DBA miniature rule sets (any period, grid or no grid) Fanaticus members regularly play.
To get the ball rolling, I like Lion Rampant, Fistful of Lead, OHW and other Neil Thomas rules, Bob Cordery Portable wargames.
Over to you!
Happy New Year, Simon

Going back to my 20mm WW2 skirmish rules for 2023. I haven't done this in about 20 years and the rules I used to use are now OOP - The Face of Battle. TBH more interested in painting/building than playing, however.

I use DBN for Naoleonics, Twilight of the Sun king for War of the Spainish Succession, but there may be an 18th Century version of DBN. ECW I use For King and Parliament, otherwise it is DBA all the way.

I also like OHW (Neil Thomas) rules, plus Bob Cordery’s Portable wargames in various forms (and Lion Rampant being prepped).

I like an absurd amount of detail when it comes to WW2.

2 x 2 Napoleonics by Rod Humble
It is free. It is easy. It is fast. It follows history. It feels right.
All in all simply a great war game.
