The Medway Centre sounds like it should be in Kent, while the Bakewell Midland sounds like Derbyshire? CarlL (definitely based in north of England last time I consulted a map! …….) CarlL ....straying off topic... Yes, Carl - Medway Centre, People’s Republic of Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1DY. If you’re within striking range give it a go….Simon runs a good tournament, and it’s always worth the trek (I go from Hampshire, though with a night-stop).

I would add that as we are in the Peak District National Park, there is lots to do if you want to make a weekend of it. There is excellent walking and Chatsworth House and Haddon hall are nearby for partners to visit while tournament-goers play with their toys.

Hello Carll
Just had a thought. If you are driving in the area for the first time watch the roads. Try to stick to "A" roads in the Bakewell area. Avoid "B" roads and yellow roads if you use a map. Always drive within braking distance, especially on "B" roads and yellow roads.

You city dwellers - no sense of adventure.

Hello Simon
It is precisely because I was a city driver that I made my comments. I know what it is like to drive down country lanes, including unmade roads, and "B" roads that are not very good. If you are not used to driving on such roads you need to be extra careful.
Another Simon, a genuine city only driver, when driving on a motorway once asked me how did I know a junction was two miles ahead. We were just dropping down before rising, and only half a mile ahead was a rather large blue motorway sign, he had not seen it, he was concentrating on the car in front.
I would rather people be safe.

And don't forget you now have to leave at least 5 feet when overtaking people cycling at speeds of up to 30mph, which means on some B roads you're never going to get past!

And don't forget you now have to leave at least 5 feet when overtaking people cycling at speeds of up to 30mph, which means on some B roads you're never going to get past! Very true. I worry more about horses and dear, although a niece would say cows. Cyclists most of the time were more predictable, and helpful, but animals less so. Locals coming the other way that had never meet a car coming the other way on their road were fun as well. Think about modern ambulances, they are not that big, but the one that took me into a hospital from near Skipton was a modified long wheelbase Landrover. David Constable P.S. - Anyway we must not worry the poor lad, we will turn him off the idea of going. He will then not be able to have breakfast at that café just round the corner, or cake at lunchtime. I suppose I should add play a few DBA games, but I know where my priority lies.

Awesome day out again everyone, especially after having to cry off last two.
The Johnsons are getting a whole new book of grudges as Mark and Phil are determined to keep me off podiums.
Massive thanks to Simon for organisation as well.
Only criticism I can make is that though the free Flapjack and Cake that was provided was delicious it was a shame to see no brownie this time.
Still we all have to make sacrifices I suppose.
