I thought I would start a new thread for this.
Format is Blind general (you don't know how many Pips you have until your opponent tells you that you have run out). Armies must not have more than 2 elements with combat factors v Foot or Mounted of more than 3. The general's element does not count as one of the 2 elements with 4+ factors if his unit has base factors of 3 or less. Eg a Cav General would not count as one of the 2 but a Spear or Blade general would. Army composition to be set before first game and then remain the same. No dismounting during or before games unless decided before first game.
Venue is Medway Centre Bakewell. First game starts at 1000 sharp.
So far, I have the following signed up. Do let me know if I have missed anyone or included anyone who isn't coming. I can take 4 more players.
Colin Alcock
Tim Rogers
Phil Johnson
Pete Duckworth
Colin O’Shea
Paul Murgatroyd
Martin Smith
John Saunders
Pete James
Baldie
Stevie Andrews
Tom Whitefield
Nick-Wright Carter
Rob Rush
Neil Alexander
Mark Johnson
Cheers
Simon

Here’s a quick question… When playing the blind general mod., if a player had rolled two PIPs, and first moved eg an Ax element, then says “I’m now going to move this horde/elephant/artillery element”…but doesn’t have enough PIPs does he still have the option of using the single remaining PIP elsewhere, or has he forfeited his chance to use that PIP by declaring it for the ‘high PIP cost’ element??
(A quick look at the Tony A. video seemed to suggest the latter)

I think that is the case Martin.
So you should try to move PIP expensive elements first, while you can.

Ah but you used your pip and sent your orders/messenger Martin, it just never got through - or was just plain ignored...

Are 6Cv allowed (as "core" troops), or not? They have 3 vs Mounted and 3 vs Foot, but get a +1 vs Foot (most of the time, as in close combat in GGo)
As they are really good elements in general, the theme would probably work better if they were not allowed (as "core").

In the other thread, Simon said elements such as this would be permissible. They are generally good, I agree, but they come with their issues, so I don't have a problem with them being counted as 'core' P.

I think that is the case Martin. So you should try to move PIP expensive elements first, while you can. So presumably, if you try to move them first and you've rolled a 1 for PIPs, you can't move at all that bound?

Dat’s how Tony Aguilar plays it.
A bit harsh I know…some of my mates think you should still get to spend the leftover PIP’s. This is especially true when El, Art, WWg and Civilians are out of ‘Command Range’, or they are in a City, Fort, or Camp, or the General is in a Wood, Oasis, Marsh, Gully, BUA or Camp, and these elements need 3 (!) PIP’s to move.
