Today would have been the Tarrington Tourney.
What a lovely day to visit it would have been too. Crisp sunshine, autumn colours...
In honour, the Sicilians invaded Bithynia...successfully 3G-3.
Let us hope that hostilities may resume as normal next year.

Yes, was sad to see it on my calendar but know it wasn't happening.
However next year, (mutated Covid virus from Mink farms in Demark permitting!)

Even I miss the competitions, so for players it must be even worse.
No point in me going, at Tarrington last year I found myself about to ask the question "what happened to the half-inch and three-quarter-inch bases", since I have not used those sizes for about 50 (fifty) years, I realized how badly I was getting confused.
Hopefully about the middle of 2021 you will be back playing DBA competitions.
Keep an eye on the Danish Mink problem, if any get loose then pray, or move to the North Pole.
Regards to all and take care.

Hello all.
Still tempted to come if it runs in 2021, just to watch.
Two (2) Danish Mink are known to have got out, one to Spain and one to Italy.
But that was nearly a year ago, and we are 50-50 for a third lock-down.

Do go Guthroth it is great fun.
Fighting as an infantryman with an all cavalry army makes you think, and you are likely to play with most troop types. It is a good learning experience, and a nice bunch of lads usually goes.

Minor window of influencing opportunity.
Which would you prefer?
Saturday 6th or 13th November for the Tarrington Tourney 2021?

I'd prefer 7th because 14th is Remberance Sunday

I'd prefer 7th because 14th is Remberance Sunday Apologies. I had the wrong dates. The event will be on a Saturday as usual. Original post now corrected.

I'm unlikely to be there on either date, but the 13th would clash with SALUTE.

Saturday 6th November 2021, 1000 until 1700
Lady Emily Community Hall Tarrington Herefordshire HR1 4EX
Tarrington is halfway between Hereford and Ledbury; approximately 11 miles from junction 2 of the M50.
Format: “Scramble”
Each player brings any valid 12-element v3.0 army on 15mm base sizes (40mm frontage), camp (camp follower element optional), and terrain for a legal battlefield as the defender, which may include provision of a specific legal board size.
Note that the army will be used by other players. • Players will play AGAINST their own army only in the first round. • Players will use their own army only in the final round. • Players will be matched using Swiss chess format. • Armies will be matched as far as possible to maximise variety (of army used and fought against) for players. • The 12-element army and terrain choices may not be changed between rounds (hence no dismounting!). • Players must attempt to place all terrain pieces supplied.
The aim is to have 6 rounds, but may be revised on the day.
Depending upon the number of players and the time to arrange the pairings for each round, there is no guarantee of non-repetition, but priority order will be given to:
1. New opponent each round
2. New army used each round
3. New opposing army each round
Cost will be £5 per player.
Further details may be necessary depending upon social restrictions applicable at the time.
If you are interested please let me know.
