The cheapness is great and I bet they paint up well but much prefer metal.

Ditto to Baldie. I am motivated by price, however. While I prefer metal, I can always add a little bit of weight to an element of plastic figures. What troubles me the most with these figures is the flash. Well the commentator didn’t seem to mind it, once you’re scraping away a whole DBA army worth of figures it gets to be tedious.
I wonder how the MeG people got their own line of figures? I suspected many of the readers here do not know that Phil Barker had his named range of figures back in the 70s. Miniature figurines made a PB series of ancient figures.
Does anyone know the composition of the particular figures in a box. For example is there enough but not too much imperial Romans to make an army for Dba?

Nicely detailed figures but I agree the flash would be a real pain trying to get off, particularly on some of the thinner bits like the darts.
Also looking at the bend on the spears I'm thinking it wouldn't take too much to have the paint start flaking off those.

Lurkio figures. Although the German with hand ax is not in the original German infantry pack. I bet the Romans are available in metal now.
Metal is expensive, and you can have flash and pitting. Of course, we don't need the huge armies of Mortem et Gloria.......

Still favoring metal, myself.
Do wonder at the long term paint adhesion. a a problem in the old days with Airfix.

Interesting! So I wonder what preparation/paint/technique was used to ensure the paints sticks so well. My only previous experience was Airfix 1/72 figures which flaked even after washing in detergent as recommended.

meh, unimpressed. Rather pay more for better quality and the metal. Need to see them in the flesh with a sample pack maybe. Would not take that leap for a box of figures.

With so many superb models coming available in this day and age, I gotta say, these don't particularly "wow" me. They're passably nice. Certainly a far sight better than old Minifigs, but trading the hazards of metal for the hazards of resin is a wash and the detail is just OK. the brittle bendy spears is a boo. Suits others tastes, but I'm not smitten.

Too bad it is not the time period I game in.
I quite like those figures, especially the elephant.

The Lurkio metal late Romans have been available for a while now - lurkio.co.uk/lurk10live/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=147_182I really like the infantry and having been painting up quite a few - and have some of the PSC plastic versions on the way as well.

Too bad it is not the time period I game in. I quite like those figures, especially the elephant. For the interested there are plenty more figures planned to be released by PSC so some may be of more interest. All the Lurkio ranges I beleive plus the Corvus Belli ranges and the Xyston ranges. I've no idea of the schedule though and it'll take time for all those to be available I would have thought as there are quite a lot.
