Today I managed to finish off 1x4Ax, 1x3Ax and 1xPs for the Cham. This army has only 1x4Ax and 1xArt to go and it is done.
My Scots common are in a similar position with 1xKn and 5x4Pk to go. Two of the 4Pk are in the final stages.
I have already lined up the next two armies to go through the production line, Yi Dynasty Korean (Grumpy) and Ming Chinese (a mix)
Cheers

Today I polished off the last 3Kn element for my Scots Common. The end is in sight for both the Scots Common (5xPk to go) and the Cham (1xArt, 1x4Ax to go) projects that I started earlier this year. Similarly the Golden Horde have a part done element of Cv and will be fully purple compliant.
There is no end in sight for the Early Samurai - I still need to paint 5xCv and 3x6Cv before the army is up to code. At the moment it is battle ready in my campaign as it uses only minimum Cv options split evenly between Cv and 6Cv
Cheers

Over the weekend I did a test run on one of the figures that will be used as both 3Pk and 3Ax. (The 4Pk is shown for comparison) I was happy with the result so now I am in the process of painting the other 11 figures in assembly line fashion.

Today my Golden Horde joined the ranks of the purple compliant with the completion of the last element of Cv.
My Scots Common are battle ready with the 2xPk done to make up the minimum requirement. I can now field a legal 12 element army with them. Three more Pk elements are queued up to complete the army.
Cheers

And today the III/23b Cham are complete. This is the 8th Purpose Built DBA3 army (ie armies built up from scratch post publication of DBA3 and painted to match the DBA3 lists). If you add in the rebuilt Siamese and Medieval Vietnamese (both of which required a substantial number of new troops and very little of the original base) then I have made up 10 new armies for DBA3. A further 53 are purple compliant - so I have about 50 more to go Cheers

I finally got around to building my model of Kublai Khan's Great Standard, acquired second-hand, years ago. It's now primed and ready for painting. Loosely assembled for this photo-op, it's in still in three main components, for ease of painting. AS-1 in the 1982 Mikes Models catalog and based on Marco Polo's descriptions of this massive observation post for the Great Khan, this model is remarkably well designed. 'Course, this 4-jumbo contraption needs an army to go with it, so I'm also painting a DBA IV/48 Yuan Chinese army. Mikes Models, of course. With a 60mm x 60mm footprint, it can do nothing but adorn a Yuan Dynasty camp. If you drill down into Mr. Farrow's DBA blog for pics of his Mongol army, you'll see a beautifully painted rendition of this very model. I plan to use his same color palette of fuchsia and jade for my own model.

Today I finished off two more Samurai 6Cv - the foot portion was done on Wednesday and the Mounted finished today - they have been part painted for a very long time, watching various other strips of figures rush past them to completed stage.
I need to finish 1x6Cv (foot portion done) and 5xCv to complete my Early Samurai army.
Cheers

On the weekend I liberated an element of Welsh Kn (the Kn general from the 2.2 South Welsh army - now surplus to requirements), some generic Dark Age LH (probably would have been part of my Pre Feudal Scots WRG7th army) and four elements of loose order foot with spears from the DBA3 conversion boneyard. These have all been rebases to have consistent flocking.
I then set aside 6 more elements that will be 3Pk and a Mounted General to convert that LH to Cv and from this boneyard Phoenix will rise a new North Welsh army that I will hopefully have completed for sale at MOAB come the end of the month.
This will be the fourth army that has sprung from the boneyard in recent times.
Cheers

Your Vikings looks absolutely stunning.
They totally put to shame the Early German (II/47g) that I finished painting today. Nevertheless, I will still base them and enjoy playing with them ^^

I very much enjoy looking at the figures you painted, so I should do the same. Here is a picture of my new Early Germans. (Advise very welcome). picload.org/view/dgddgica/dba_early_german.jpg.html(Would have liked to insert the picture directly, but this seems not to be possible).
