So I've just finished the last of the solid Pike, Pyrrhus' foot companions complete with silver shields. Presently I'm working on Pyrrhus himself (3Kn G). Next up will be the elephant element. Though there will be a hiatus while I source a model. Cheers, Pyrrhus and his companions are based and flocked. So this afternoon I'll photograph the Pyrrhic forces and post them to the 2 FB DBA pages. Cheers, The Forged in Battle package, including a Macedonian elephant, arrived a few days ago. So the elephant has been assembled, and it and crew have been undercoated. Tomorrow I'll commence on the elephant and experiment using a mix of Citadel's Contrast Paints, washes and regular paints. Cheers,

Progress has slowed on the 2024 Northern Cup project, with the imminent return to full-time work, but I've managed to finish all the Cv elements for the III/25b Arab Conquest army and they can be viewed here: www.facebook.com/groups/382414395294162/permalink/1396323480569910/Now onto the final 3x4Bd elements and 1x3Ax and then this one is complete. Probably going to move to the Kahazar army next, as a break from painting turbans... P.

Are they self-adhesive flags?

Do a decent enough job though 😊 P Nice to know as I am accustomed to the ‘old style’. Twenty Polish flags and gonfalons are needed and next week I will make a start on them. But the Burgundian battleflag set may be useful.

I must say that the elephant was a joy to paint and I'm really pleased with how the experiment using Citadel's Contrast Paints turned out. Hopefully I'll get the crew completed in the next couple of days. Cheers,

Over the past couple of days I have been soaking and rebasing more of the estate figures I acquired. On Sunday I heard that there were some more figures available so I rushed over and picked them up.
It provided enough figures so that I could complete
Late Acheamenid Persian Polybian Roman Early Acheamenid Persian (a list)
The Romans are currently getting the pumice on their bases. I will start on the Persians later this week.
There are also figures to partially make up a Numidian army
I have to paint some more LH, some slingers (Ps) and Elephant crew.
There are some Ps that were holding a bow in the left hand and a spear in the right. I have just cut the bow away and added a round shield and this will make up the Numidian infantry (Ps and Ax). As for the imitation legionaries - there are numerous Roman Hastati in the mix, I have just painted over a darker skin tone.
Cheers

I am re basing some DBA Vikings on metal bases, my current preference. Also working through my SAGA and Infamy figures to base and magnetise them.
I am the clever boy who bases his Goths on 2p pieces and forgot to check which would stick to a magnet.
Fortunately you can get .2mm thick washers so I glue them under the cavalry bases and any 2p I miss.

Finally painted the 25mm Samnites. Still got the bases to do, but I don't care. The Samnites have been sat waiting since the 1980s!

My FiB Sarmatian army now finished. The 12 x 3Kn option is rather majestic.

A while back, I realized I had enough leftover figures to scrape together a I/6a Early Bedouin or I/6c Early Aramaean army... which is now complete!
