The Forged in Battle package, including a Macedonian elephant, arrived a few days ago. So the elephant has been assembled, and it and crew have been undercoated. Tomorrow I'll commence on the elephant and experiment using a mix of Citadel's Contrast Paints, washes and regular paints. Cheers, I completed the elephant yesterday, including basing and tufting. I must say that the elephant was a joy to paint and I'm really pleased with how the experiment using Citadel's Contrast Paints turned out. Hopefully I'll get the crew completed in the next couple of days. Cheers, The elephant, complete with crew, is now completed. I just need to spray varnish today and I'll post images on the 2 FB DBA pages. Next up will be an appropriate camp. Cheers,

After a two year wait (since I missed out on Kickstarter), I will start de-flashing and priming my newly arrived (no thanks Covid) Forged in Battle War & empire III Dark Ages figures. I ordered the Arthurian personalities pack to update my current Sub Roman British and two packs of Vikings to update my current fairly static Viking army. Hopefully the California warm spell will abate this week so I can visir my studio (the garage) and get to working. BTW, the figures are great, even impressed the wife.

Bases superb, as are the figs. Mix of miniature manufacturers work really well together.

I agree - the diversity of pose adds to the overall effect. Fortunately, these three manufacturers work well together, in terms of sizing 😁

Just finishing up my Hittites. Yes, there are 15 stands and probably not the official DBA 3.0 army composition for them, but as long as they are played at home and not at a convention, life is good. I also colour code all my bases for each army... makes it much easier to see who is what, when I play 45 stands per side. The spearmen are from Lanchashire Games, the horses and chariot wheels from Essex, and everybody else from Magister Militum. The chariots themselves are made by me. I know my painting style, basing, etc.. are not everyone's cup of tea, but as the guy from Tabletop Minions via youtube mentioned... "you paint for yourself" I have been itching to do a second Hebrew army, so I can have one for Israel and Judah, but I picked up some really nice cavalry from Lanchashire Games and spearmen from Magister Militum, and will be painting these guys up to replace the existing stands in my Urartian army. The figures are far more in keeping with pictures and artifacts that I have seen of Urartian troops.

After a bit of a break as I settle into retired life I have pushed on basing the Polybians and Achaeamenids.
The Polybians are now done and the Later Achaeamenids have about half the army at the final stage. The other half is getting the Pumice put on the base. Next up will be the Early Achaeamenids.
Today though I picked up the brushes and finished off a few more strips 2xLH for the Tigranid Armenians 1xMtd-4Lb and 1xArt for the Burgundian Ordonance - this army is now up to Purple Code 1xCv for the a list Komnenan Byzantine. Only two more LH to go for them. 1xSp and 1x4Ax for the Feudal Spanish - I used Eureka Almhugvars for the 4Ax and they look spectacular.
Cheers
