Well I just painted up four of the elements for my 'terracotta warriors' take on II/4a warring states Chinese that I WOULD HAVE TAKEN TO MOAB if it hadn't been cancelled. Up yours, coronavirus; you stupid RNA piece of ****. I feel your pain battledamage - my own motivation has fallen off a cliff since MOAB's cancellation. And I am so close to finishing the damned army! Sigh ...

More progress to report. I've completed the 3Cv element and another element of 4Pk, this time the mercenaries. Still to do are the last element of solid Pike, an elephant elephant and the 3Kn General's element. I've yet to source the elephant but I'm seriously considering the Forged in Battle one. Cheers, So I've just finished the last of the solid Pike, Pyrrhus' foot companions complete with silver shields. Presently I'm working on Pyrrhus himself (3Kn G). Next up will be the elephant element. Though there will be a hiatus while I source a model. Cheers, Pyrrhus and his companions are based and flocked. So this afternoon I'll photograph the Pyrrhic forces and post them to the 2 FB DBA pages. Cheers,

I had a busy time of it on Saturday (interestingly not long after replying to an email from fellow fanatici Spitzicles and stating that I was losing motivation). It saw
1) The completion of basing for my Celtiberians 2) Repainting some shields and spears for three elements of Hoplites (figures I originally owned as a teenager and reacquired recently) to make up a Later Hopite (Other) army 3) The last Cv element to bring my Khitan Liao up to Purple code. 4) The two generals (3Ax and 3Wb) and Ps for an a list Early Libyan 5) a Mtd-4Lb element for my Burgundian Ordonance
So this brings my tally of fully compliant DBA3 armies up to 125.
Cheers

After a holiday hiatus, painting of the Arab Conquest army continues apace, with a further 2x4Bd now complete and these can be viewed on Facebook. Just basing now the final 1x4Bd and 1xLCm and this version of the army will be finished, with minor options included.

You must be over the half way mark with your project and ahead of schedule.

Hi T. Yes, I've now nearly finished 13 of the 20 armies needed for the 2024 Northern Cup project and well ahead of time. Still to go are: III/16 Khazar (army purchased, a mix of Forged in Battle and Essex) III/25b Arab Conquest (all figures purchased for this variant - FiB, OG and Donnington) II/83b Later Visigothic (considering Legio Heroica for this one) III/31 Umayyad Arab (all figures purchased - FiB, OG and Donnington) III/37a Abbasid Arab (all figures purchased - FiB, OG and Donnington ) III/51 Bagratid Armenian (again, Legio Heroica to be used, with some Essex thrown in) III/76 Konstantinian Byzantine (all figures purchased - FiB & Essex) I'd expected to be at this point around this time next year, give or take a few months, but one of the few silver-linings to this Covid-19 business has been the extra time I've had to crack on with it all. Cheers P.

Well done and the mix of manufactures work well together.

I agree and felt that, for an army of this nature, it needed the variety of pose that using different manufacturers brings to make it truly ‘pop’ 😊 P

Ploughing through armies and still doing a top notch job, I envy your paintfoo powers.

Nice looking artillery, kaiphranos.
And as usual, paul, that Arab Conquest lot is very nice.
A few days ago I finished painting and glued to bases two elements of Minfig ZC-42 Early Armenian Horse Archers - had been in the queue for a while awaiting finding a missing horse...
This morning I finished painting and attached to bases 3 and one half elements of SP with some Mike's Models figures. Second hand so no code, they are standing in kettle helms with mail over a gambeson and heater shields slung over the back.
Also another SP element of Mike's models with a longer spear in mail (including trousers) wearing surcoats and hoods with a open faced helmet. Might be intended to be Low Country urban militia.
Have two more of these figures that will probably be used (at least in the short term) to finish the half element.
Pinted each elements shields the same to represent urban militia.
Gives me a number of options as to which army to deploy them with.
