These figures have been undercoated. Progress has been good with the horses completed and the flesh applied to the riders. Hopefully today I'll be able to complete the riders. Cheers, Today I completed the figures for the LH Tarentine element for my Pyrrhic forces. Tomorrow I'll be basing the figures. Today I also cleaned up the figures for the 3rd and 4th elements of solid Pike. Though I won't be able to undercoat them for at least 5 days as each day's maximum temperature is forecast to be less than 10°C. Cheers, More progress has been made on my Pyrrhic forces. Another 2 elements of solid Pike completed. I'm only awaiting the decals I ordered from VVV for the suborned Macedonian phalangites before I base them. Next up are the figures for the element of 3Cv. They've been cleaned up and mounted on painting nails. I intend to undercoat them today. Cheers,

Also I have painted the horses for the 3Cv element. Hopefully today I'll get the riders done. Once the 3Cv element is complete all that will remain to do are 2 more elements of solid Pike, the Elephant stand (the elephant still needs to be sourced) and the 3Kn (G) element. Cheers,

One element of Minifig ZC308 Teutonic KN - they come with caparisoned horses so went ahead with using them although there are some major arguments against their use historically.
Blister pack for some ZC306 Knight 13th Century, Lance, Pointed Heaume, listed them a Hospitalers, so I went ahead and painted them up as such. The pointed Heaume looks like a 'sugar loaf' version, so a bit late for the Later Crusaders. Probably end up joining some of the other armies that fought against the various Muslim armies in the Mediterranean in addition, of course, there is the IV/56 Order of t. John list. As there were 8 knights in the pack, I used 6 to make 2 elements of Hospitalers and added 4 ZC304 Knight 13th Century, Sword, Heaume paint with generic arms as 'colonist' knights to make up another 'mixed' pair of elements.
Not sure why, but some of the Minifig horses got quite a bit larger. Later codes make their predecessors look like ponies...
Definitely not to be mixed on the same base.

My weekend involved more rebasing of troops from Bern's estate. I stuck down a II/7 Later Achaemenid Persian and II/39b Celtiberian - the Achaemenids will need 2x3Kn to be at their full complement
I also began the process of soaking off the old bases, a Polybian Roman army (but I will need to paint up 2x3Cv to bring them up to code).
Friday also saw the arrival from the North of my Early Egyptian army as painted by my good friend Bunnywhacker. I have begun to put the flocking on their bases, this morning I had 3/4 of the army ready for the next step (Painting the crushed pumice an earth colour).
Cheers

I am about halfway through painting up a I/31 Neo-Hititte / Aramean army, specifically the kingdom of Tabal.
From what I have been reading, an interesting force that lay on a major trading route (city of Kanes), and had numerous dealings with Assyria over many centuries.
I really enjoy painting up armies that are made up of many small nations / city states and also have themselves listed as enemies, as this allow me to not only paint more than one army per group, I can also use up leftover miniatures and come up different looks to the armies, etc..

3 more elements of the ZC308 Minifig Teutonics painted and glued to bases. Along with another element of PS for the Early Germans with Essex EGA5 javelinmen.
2 elements of Museum MD20 French/Continental Men at Arms KN on tap to have their lances gussied up and then be glued to bases latter today for the Later Book IV pool - more fodder for the tactical nuke English LBs...

Cheers, More progress to report. I've completed the 3Cv element and another element of 4Pk, this time the mercenaries. Still to do are the last element of solid Pike, an elephant elephant and the 3Kn General's element. I've yet to source the elephant but I'm seriously considering the Forged in Battle one. Cheers,

Next up will be the elephant element. Though there will be a hiatus while I source a model. Cheers,

Over the weekend I finished flocking the bases of my Early Egyptians (painted by my comrade Bunnywhacker).
I completed the first step in flocking the bases of my Celtiberians (an army from Bern's estate), gluing on the crushed pumice.
I stuck down a Polybian Roman army (another from Bern's estate) - but still need to paint the Cv elements
And finally began soaking an New Kingdom Egyptian from the Bern collection off their old, varied bases for a redo.
There will be pics of the Early Egyptians and my recently completed East Frankish put up on the Book of Face this week Cheers

Three more KN elements with the Minifig ZC-304s. The horses that came with them (second hand acquisition) are a bit out of scale (larger) with the knights. Presumably originally intended for another code. May someday see about getting some that are a better match.
