Feathers are the spice of life my friend. Without them my ancient Italians would look like any other old rustic hillmen.

Feathers are the spice of life my friend. Without them my ancient Italians would look like any other old rustic hillmen. The odd feather on an Italian helmet is one thing, Mayans covered in the bleeding things is another!!

Flag day today. I am painting flags for the Tuareg (2x) , Feudal Spanish (Navarre & Asturias) and Strathclyde.
Also painting flags for the next big project, but more on that later.

Last night I finished 1xArt and 1x4Cb for my Khitan Liao. There are just two elements of mounted to go and this army is up to purple code.
I made a bit of headway on a few of the other strips in the tray, so there are several other armies fast approaching completion
Cheers

15 elements of SP painted and glued to bases. 8 elements of Essex NA13 Norman Heavy spear and 7 elements of the NA14 Mediums. Figuring to use them for Feudal militia SP.
I painted the shields of 12 of the elements with the device/badge of one of the Italian City States. The remaining three got variants - one paly of seven azure and argent, one paly of 7 gules and or, an one element barry of 6 or and sable. The 12 will be 'assigned' to the Communal Italian 'b' list, although they may end up in a Feudal French, German, or English army on occasion as well. The other three will be plugged in as needed in armies until I paint some more 'historic' elements.

So so close to finishing my Early Swiss Army. If there are no interruptions I should have it ready to post up by the weekend. ( fingers crossed, as I'd like to take them for a drive when I play DBA with my brother next)

Believe it or not I just scaled them on the computer and ran them of on an HP color printer I happened to buy with the express intent of making army banners. They're just printer paper.
