Actually paddy, I found what appear to be earlier renditions of those shields without the lions - three shuttles for the weavers, for example.
I decided that as time went on the devices were elaborated on and the rampant lions and crowns appeared. Not to curb your enthusiasm, but I finding the lions a bit intimidating went for the earlier blazon.
Of course on 15mm shields those shuttles are essentially three stripes on the shield...
I may go ahead and shoot and post a picture of mine in the next day or so for the edification and amusement of anyone interested. The pavises, on the other hand, didn't turn out too bad - I just need figures for two more elements.

I’d like to see photos of your Low Countries (Ghent) Army to provide inspiration. I often find that seeing other people’s armies and ideas adds to my own especially if they use figures I haven’t found yet or have done a novel camp. My Flemish spear men got deflashed last night and all the spears / pikes got removed ready for drilling. They will get glued onto painting bases today and basecoated if I have time. Paddy

So far it is just the 3 elements of planconmen and 2 of pavisers completed. As I had the fellows mostly painted prior to raising the question on shields, they are not 'properly' attired uniform wise.
At the moment I put the TTG pike on hold to get another Book III army done (Ottonian) as I only have 1 (Normans). The completed PK were already painted with generic Medieval shields as are the KN.
I'll see about getting pictures of them tomorrow though.

Well paddy, we'll see if this works with the new Photobucket - s858.photobucket.com/user/jamespirc/library/low_country?sort=3&page=1Had to borrow a camera - both of mine have problems. A bit fuzzy, but there are the planconmen, pavisers, and the generically painted KN I am currently planning to use. P.S. It is late and if it doesn't work will put them up on flickr.

Thanks paddy.
I will do some of the guilds with other field colors when I pint up the PK. Also throw in more of the other guilds.
Would like to get more of the pavisers, but have no idea who the manufacturer is/was. There was a flash problem with the front brim of the helm smeared over the faces of some, but they are a nice figure.

Look like the pavaisers could be Irregular.

Aside from the flash (tired mold?) they are a bit sharper than other Irregular figures I have. Worth a look.

Ave paddy - for giggles here are the first 6 elements of PK - s858.photobucket.com/user/jamespirc/library/low_country?sort=3&page=12 from Courtrai (I had already painted some of the tunics green prior to doing the detailed research...) and 4 Ghent. Will probably do another Courtrai and at least 2 Ghent for the BBDBA army. Order arrived from Alternate and have another element primed, but again, back burner for the rest. On another note, Heath notes that the later pike are illustrated with re or black pikes. And contrary to Heath the re-enactor site doesn't think uniforms were standardized by the time of Golden Spurs.

Looking good Goragrad. I’m on my hols at the moment so progress on mine has stopped. However, I’m pretty much there with the crossbow, plan on and knights and have done a third of the Pike.
Red or black pikes - hmmmm ...... maybe for the flag bearers - which will be close to half. However, mine will have standardised uniforms - which look great en mass.

Padster you are aware of the following aren't you?? www.krigsspil.dk/node/62I know its correct because I supplied the bloke who did the flags with the info. I sent him Felix de Vigne's book (the sort of thing one happens to have 'laying around'!) If you need names of knights I think some might be mentioned in the series of books about Courtrai (very detailed but in Flemish). They are about somewhere.

Ouch, clicked that link redrob and got one of those 'your computer is infected, don't shut down messages.' Locked in of course without being able to cancel out. So I killed the machine and am running a scan. Probably another after that with the other AV program.
Not what I expected at all.

Thanks Redrob. I’m all over those flags for my Crécy HYW English Army .... just hit the painting table today!
My Low Countries (Ghent) Army just got glued to its bases today - with the exception of the organ gun and Halberdiers. Looking good! Think I’m just a saddo with a flag fetish from the look of them. That said a really colourful Army that I can’t wait to showcase.

No Ghent folk at Courtrai by the way. They don't appear to have done very much at all around that time. So I hope your figures are later dudes.
