They look great Robert and great inspiration to pull out my tools and finally finish off a few projects I have.
I am looking forward to seeing your Sumerian walled village.

Thanks for that Robert. I'm assuming that it wouldn't work on beaded/expanded polystyrene. Cheers, The end result would not leave a smooth surface. This would not pose too much of a problem if you were to cover it with Milliput.
I prefer Milliput over other material as it bonds well on contact.

I am looking forward to seeing your Sumerian walled village. Thanks Barry,
I will start the Sumerian walled village next week. I envision three separately based structures with enclosures all surrounded by an earthen wall. Each can be removed to allow the placement of an element, but I am still debating whether this should represent - a 'fort' or a 'city'.

The Old Kingdom Egyptians are painted and based. Photos will be posted tomorrow to the blog along with a camp and camp followers.
These are my first Black Hat (Gladiator) figures and I must say I am very impressed with them; fine sculpting and detailing. A second order will be sent as soon as Black Hat returns from its holiday break.
Between now and then, I have four Biblical armies that need to be put through their paces.

Some of the lead pile I managed to clear away this year were some Gladiator New Kingdom Egyptians. I originally bought them to use alongside my Essex, however I found they looked quite different, too different for my liking, but they were really, really nice figures.
They have been painted up a Semi-Historical HotT army for a friend. I am currently waiting for a Hittite army to arrive so he has a matched pair.

Just the highlighting details remain to do and I can add 6 x 5Hd to the Early Libyan army. These can be swapped for the six auxiliaries on the 'a' list.
Two chariots with Libyan crew is all I need for the 'b' list and then I move on to the Elamites.

More are on order with Black Hat. These will make up a Hyksos, Nubian and a second command of Old Kingdom Egyptians.

The Early Elamite army is currently on the work bench.
With extra bowmen ordered, these now have 8 x archers + general (3Bw) and 4 x archers (Ps) making up the 'a' sub-list. The 'b' sub-list have 2 x axemen + general (3Bd) and 2 x retinue (4Bw).
These are added to the Biblical collection in anticipation of Eureka's 15mm Sumerian release. We should be hearing later this month if the project moves forward or not.

The Elamite army is complete and photos should be posted this weekend. These will be a challenge to use as they are all bow, not unlike the Nubians. The Nubians do however have the support of two Wb giving them an edge over the Elamite.
I should have my next order from Black Hat in a week or two, so that will give me time to continue with the match series and maybe the construction of a BUA.

The Menfat seem to have been a significant factor in the sweep against the Bedouin.
Got a Chariot v1 army a few years ago and after I primed it discovered I needed those 2 HD to be 2 (and now 3) compliant. Didn't have anything suitable at the time, but have since picked up some Essex generic HD figures. Time to finish the army.
Especially as I have some Nubian archers coming to go with the command and foot from the OG15 Christmas sale and will have a period opponent for them.
Can also add a few elements to my 6b Midianites and have that Early Bedouin as well.
Will be a change from the Normans and Chinese I am working on now.

The early Biblical period will be a change from the Normans and Chinese. The Menfat can wreck havoc among the tribesmen but they do have their limitations especially when operating in bad going terrain (-2).
Both the Bedouin and Libyans will need to work on their skill at luring the enemy into unfavourable terrain.
