Does anyone know if John has closed his business? I see the website is not up any more. Shame if he has, some nice figures in the range.

Do let me know if you are interested or if anything has changed.
Phil Johnson Mark Johnson Colin Alcock Baldie Mark Skelton "trikak" COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME HAVE YOUR NAME!! Stephen Finn Pete Duckworth Pete James Martin Smith Colin O’Shea Tom Whitehead (possible)
Kind regards,

After the strains of COVID I will and keep it simple and allow any armies including in-game dismounting ones.

Hi all Bakewell players. It looks like the first date I can get at the usual venue is Saturday 10 July. This, of course, assumes that the government road map pans out as planned with most restrictions going on 21 June. If the date of 10 July is not looking popular, I will explore other venues in the area.
Could you please e-mail me or message me if you are likely to want and be able to come on this date. Format will be open with any legal armies allowed.
Cheers

Hi all.
Just a heads up that I hope to talk to the Medway Centre in Bakewell this week with a view to scheduling a tournament in late June/early July.

Thanks Robert. I am in the process of putting together 20mm Anglo-Sikh Wars using Newline Design Figures so the Akali fanatics will fit the Warrior bill nicely! I am also looking at using a square grid with your rules.
Best wishes

Hello Robert.
I have recently downloaded your (very good) rules for later periods with 3.0.
You mention that some Warriors keep their original DBA v3 Warband Characteristics. Could you please give me some further information on this? Does it mean that they have a quick kill ability over certain troops?
Kind regards

Hi all,
Just to confirm that there won't be a Bakewell competition in October. This is mainly due to the fact that getting my house sorted is taking taking longer than expected and there wasn't much expression of interest further to my original e-mail. I will try for something in the New Year, assuming the government's (IMHO) completely disproportionate, inconsistent and unbalanced response to COVID hasn't wrecked the country by then! Perhaps we could do something in Sweden - that bastion of common sense...

I am thinking of doing something in late October. The Medway centre is open with various rules in place. Before I get into the nitty gritty of the operating mechanics, i'd be interested in getting a feel for how much interest there would be. I appreciate that perception of risk is vey much a personal choice. I guess the following are likely to apply: - Bring your own food and drink - no use of the kitchen.
- Sitting well back from the table or having a spare chair set back when not your bound.
- Only use your own miniatures and scenery and hands off opponent's - so most likely Open format to meet this.
- Lots of hand washing/sanitisers etc
- Regular wiping down of tables, door handles etc
- Limit on numbers (12?) to facilitate distancing - will depend on the size of room I can get. Particularly between games.
- Not sure on face masks - just when playing the game or optional?
- Non-refundable payment up front unless whole event is cancelled and the Medway don't charge me!
As far as the actual game rules in a COVID universe - how about no group moves (social distancing), -1 combat factor for close order troops a they will be in uncomfortable face masks and -1 in cities due to the extra risks in urban areas!! (Joking).
I am in the final stages of a house refurbishment before moving in and so won't be able to give this much thought over the next couple of weeks but do let me know if you might be interested.
Cheers

Yep. I remember the post-Bakewell discussion well! Diades has it. I have to say though that ther French rules (ADLG) have a much clearer definition! Zut alors!!!

The basic point of threat zones is that troops start getting a bit nervous when they are close (1 BW) to an enemy. This means that their freedom to move where they want is restricted. So, amongst other things, they can't zip across an enemy front within 1BW or make certain other manoeuvres. The rules define what they are allowed to do. You may also find the diagrams helpful.
